Youth Round-Up – October 7th/8th
Firstly, it was great to see the Girls section of the club supporting #HerGameToo initiative. This was present at their matches and also the 1st Teams Home game where they did a pitch run out and had photos with the team as they paraded the #HerGameToo banners around the ground.
Our U18’s Floodlit team got their first win of the season this week with a thumping 7-0 win over Buckingham FC. TJ Gibson got 4 of the goals, with a superb display of attacking football. Kyle Lawrence was again on the scoresheet with a brace and Kai Borrett got the final goal.
The U18’s Dynamos team went down 8-4 at top of the table AFC Lightning. In a close game, the score was 6-4 on 90 minutes with 4 minutes injury time, but they gave 2 penalties away in that time which were both converted. Another hat-trick for Kyle Lawrence and Khori Wilkins with the other.
James Moore and Greg Panter were delighted with a decent 5-2 win in the EJA League, which puts them in into 3rd place in the table. TJ Gibson with star with a hat-trick and Dylan Stevens with the other 2 goals.
The U17’s Youth team were back to winning ways with a 5-1 win at home to Chesham United. The goals were shared around with 5 scorers, Harley, Ethan, Rohan, Kailen and Ben all on the scoresheet.
With only 11 players available David Hutchings & Arron Russell took their U17’s Colts over to Hughenden Ospreys. They struggled early on, going 3-0 down, but showed great resilience to finally lose 4-3 with a couple of players picking up knocks during the match. Two goals from Charlie Russell and the other from Alex Kasenza.
The U16’s Dynamos are finding the EJA tough and a lack of players also, meant they went down 4-0 after a long trek to Histon.
The U16’s Colts also lost on the road, losing out 7-1 to a decent Datchet team.
Paul Robinson and Toby O’Callaghan’s U16’s fought out a 1-1 draw at home to Herons Girls on Saturday morning. Kiera Van Danzig opened her account for the season scoring a good goal. The match also saw a red card for the visiting manager for persistent complaining and dissent.
Kevin Borrett was very happy with the U15’s Athletic’s performance in the League Cup as they beat a decent Stansted Youth team 2-1. Dylan Borrett getting a goal and some great work from James Byrom forcing an own goal to seal the victory.
Phil Granville’s U15’s Youth continued their unbeaten start with a 3-1 win away at Maidenhead United, who had only lost once this season before the game. 2 more goals from the prolific Harry Granville and Charlie Thacker grabbing the other goal.
Not to be outdone, the U15’s Colts also remain unbeaten. David Thomas was particularly pleased as his side were 1-0 down with 10 minutes to play against a physical Chinnor team but managed to score twice in the dying minutes to secure a fantastic 2-1 victory.
Another unbeaten team is Martyn Jones’ U14’s Dynamos who won a 14 goal thriller, 9-5 against Windsor Ospreys.
However Nathan Poole’s U14’s Colts tasted defeat for the first time this season. A poor (sleepy) first half saw them concede 4 goals, but a better second half saw them score a goal, but not enough as they lost out 4-1 to a good Flackwell Heath team.
Both U13’s Youth and Colts teams were involved in cup ties this weekend and both teams are successfully through to the next round. Stef Ziolkowski’s Youth team ran out 9-1 winners in a one-sided match against Crendon. Another unbeaten Aylesbury Vale Dynamos team.
Chris Whetter’s Colts team also progress with a 4-2 win over Wendover Juniors.
The U13’s girls teams also got 2 victories on Saturday. The Blue team went away to Witney Vikings and secured a good 3-0 win. Neili Brijesh with 2 goals and Gabriella Cheung with the other.
The Yellow team were at home and defeated Towcester Vixens 5-2.
Richard Evans’ U12’s Dynamos came up against a strong and physical Risborough Rangers team on Sunday morning and lost out 4-1. Leroy Agbomeji scored the goal and Will Reeves put in a mon of the match performance for the Dynamos.
The U12’s Youth were looking to maintain their winning ways and at 3-1 up looked like this would happen, however, Downley Dynamos rallied well and pegged them back to a 3-3 draw.
On a positive note, Velid Svraka’s Colts team had not won this season, but got their first victory with a great 3-2 win over Ruislip Rangers.
Peter Medlycott’s U11’s Colts team made the short trip to Aylesbury United and lost out 6-5 in a very close game that could have gone either way. The defeat was hard to swallow having been 5-4 up with a couple of minutes left…
The U10’s had four emphatic victories in their match away at Crendon Corinthians. Jacob managed to grab 10 goals and there were goals from Max (5), Jawdan (4), Harrison (3), Rhys (2), Gaeten (2), Noah W, Manni, Kai and Ryan.
The U9’s teams had a tough week. The Dynamos team Won 1 and Lost 3 of their games with the long ball tactic their undoing. Jonny Burgess will be working on how to defend that in training this week…!
Chris Milburn’s Youth team also struggled, this time against Seer Green with 2 Draws and 2 Losses. The games were very close and Chris reports his team are passing better and communicating better as well.
Finally the newbies, our U7’s Dynamos team were away at Haddenham and Mike Borrett reports it was a poor weekend with all 4 matches ending in defeat. I think we all agree that the Manager needs to take responsibility….!!!!
