The Dynamos won their Berks & Bucks Senior Cup Preliminary Round tie at Hellenic League high fliers Reading City on Monday evening.

They had though to rely on penalties to progress with keeper James Weatherill making two penalty saves to see Paul Bonham’s men win through.

With thirteen players either injured or unavailable due to work commitments it was the bare bones of a side that arrived for this County Cup fixture. Coming into the starting XI were three players from the U18s side in Owen Heale, Cole Gimbel and Fabian Garcia and none of them looked out of place in what was to be a fantastic cup win.

Aylesbury took a first half lead through Elliott Amadieu on eighteen minutes, but Reading equalised immediately after the interval and despite chances at either end the game finished all square.

Harry Dalton levelled with Vale’s first spot kick, before Weatherill started his heroics saving the second City penalty, Harry Scott then put the visitor’s ahead but Reading levelled with their third, Alfie Gaspar then fired over but his blushes were spared as his keeper saved again.

Cole Gimbel made it 2-3, Reading levelled and it was left to Alex Woodfine to fire the Haywood Way outfit through to the next round.
