Four days after a great battle with Harefield and coming away with a draw, The Dynamos were at home against lowly Baldock. George Zammit was in goal again and new signing Ben Hammond was on the bench. Also, Development player Jude Guest-Brainch was hoping to make his debut for the first team. In the first minute Danny Murphy swung in a great cross finding Chris Stapleton in the middle, but the ball was inches away from his head. Baldock threatened at the other end as they send a header from a corner over the bar.
Chris Stapleton got a shot on target on 10 minutes as he collected a ball out from Terry Griffiths and the keeper saved well. 17 minutes and Danny Murphy was the architect again as he curled a ball into Chris Stapleton and this time he controlled well, beat his man and hit a low shot which was saved again. Moments later Baldock thought they had broken the deadlock as a shot beat George Zammit, hit the cross-bar and Terry Griffiths cleared the ball as it bounced on the line. Lucky escape for the home side.
Baldock were having the majority of possession and Zammit was on hand again to make a save as the Baldock shot deflected off Paolo Bagatti, but Zammit grabbed the ball. 33 minutes and Baldock worked the ball through but Paolo Bagatti fouled as they looked likely to score. Yellow Card for Bagatti as Terry Griffiths was back…could have been worse. A few minutes later a long range effort from Baldock saw Zammit needing to be on his toes as he tipped the ball over the bar. The resulting corner was cleared by Luke Nugent and finally whacked clear by Davide Pobbe
Aylesbury did manage one more chance before the break as Roy Byron tackled well and win the ball playing a great ball through to Jake Baldwin, he hit a shot which the keeper saved at the second attempt.
Half time: 0-0
Steve Bateman made a sub at half time taking over Davide Pobbe and bringing on new signing Ben Hammond in the middle. Baldock were still the better team and they had a couple of shots went wide of the mark as they searched for the opening goal. 64 minutes and a Baldock cross is met by a good header which hits the cross bar and landed in Zammit’s hands. A few minutes later and another Baldock attack. They go through the defence and only a last ditch tackle from Terry Griffiths stops another shot on goal. 68 minutes and Joe Chott replaced Callum Shortt on the right wing.
Five minutes later as Baldock surged forward, Roy Byron fouled their midfielder and the referee decided this was worth a Yellow Card. Bateman made his final substitution as Jude Guest-Brainch came on for his debut for Roy Byron in the midfield. 82 minutes and the deadlock was finally broken. Baldock who had been the better team managed to work the ball into the centre of the Dynamos box and their player beat Zammit from close range. Baldock had at least 2 more chances to increase their lead in the final minutes but they couldn’t find the target.
