After the disappointing defeat at Leighton, Manager Steve Bateman rang the changes for the visit to Harefield on a damp Tuesday evening.
Dan McAteer was unavailable meaning a debut for George Zammit. There were 2 other debuts for Dynamos this evening with Danny Murphy coming in at left back and former Dunstable Captain, Chris Stapleton, coming in up front. Will Mullarkey also played after impressing for the Development team of late.
The first 10 minutes saw both teams trying to keep possession, but no real penetration into the respective defences. It was Harefield who had the first shot which went well over. Chris Stapleton did force the Harefield keeper into a save just after 10 minutes played.
Harefield looked slightly stronger and a few minutes later a decent effort was well saved by George Zammit at his near post.
The match had an edge to it which the Harefield No.5 lit a fuse as he slammed into George Zammit as he caught a ball in the area, sending him sprawling into the post. Bit naughty that but Zammit was up after treatment.
20 minutes in and the referee seemed to be giving strange decisions, but one in particular upset Davis Haule and he was sent for 10 minutes in the sin bin to reflect…
Next up for the referee was Steve Bateman, who the referee decided needed a talking to as the match was not being allowed to run with the whistle happy referee.
Harefield then had the better of the remaining half creating a few chances. 26 minutes in and Harefield hit a shot destined for the back of the net, but George Zammit somehow got a hand to it and tipped it wide. Superb save.
34 minutes and Dynamos cleared the ball off the line with Terry Griffiths and Will Mullarkey throwing themselves around to stop the shots.
Five minutes later and George Zammit was back in action as another Harefield shot came in which he gathered well low to his right.
Danny Murphy was having a good battle on the left, but one foul too many saw him in the referees book before half time.
44 minutes and as Dynamos looked to have settled for 0-0…Harefield struk. A well worked goal as they crossed in and no one was marking the striker as he slotted home. 1-0 Harefield.
Half time Harefield 1-0 Dynamos
An early free kick from Dynamos in the second half saw Jake Baldwin swing the ball in and Davis Haule rose the highest but his header went over the bar. Another free kick moments later from Will Mullarkey is headed wide by Davide Pobbe. Dynamos were getting closer.
54 minutes and Chris Stapleton, who had been lively all night, was upended in the box. Referee looked and ran away, despite the protests from Dynamos players.
Finally after 58 minutes Dynamos equalised. Good work from Davide Pobbe as he found Chris Stapleton, his quick feet found Jake Baldwin who sidefooted past the keeper and into the net. 1-1.
Davide Pobbe then had a half chance but his shot was scuffed wide. At the other end Harefield were awarded a free kick in a dangerous position. Danny Murphy disagreed too much and was the second Dynamos player to hit the sin bin. Free kick hit the wall and cleared by Paolo Bagatti.
67 minutes and Roy Byron made a great tackle and came out with the ball, playing in Chris Stapleton he squared to Davide Pobbe and his shot went just over the bar. Dynamos could smell the victory.
With 20 minutes remaining, Roy Byron was fouled and Jake Baldwin stood over the free kick. He hit a great effort which was just saved but no one following in and Harefield cleared.
77 minutes and Davide Pobbe swung in a ball which landed at the feet of Chris Stapleton and he slammed it home to make it 2-1 to Dynamos. A debut goal!!!
A couple of minutes later and Harefield won a corner which they crossed into the near post and Paquette scored for Harefield with a header to make it 2-2.
82 minutes and Will Mullarkey was injured after another bad tackle, Luke Nugent came on for the remainder of the match.
With a couple of minutes remaining, Davide Pobbe was yellow carded and then subbed for another debutant, Joe Chott, also stepping up from the Development team.
No more chances and final score: Harefield 2-2 Dynamos.
