AVDFC 0-6 New Salamis

After the euphoria of last weeks result, The Dynamos were looking to keep pushing forward for new boss, Steve Bateman. Within a minute, Jake Baldwin raced through and slotted the ball home but the linesman gave him offside. 7 minutes and Salamis first meaningful attack resulted in a good goal as Dynamos were carved open and they scored from close range. Straight from the kick off Dynamos were back on the attack and Alfi Touceda passed to Jake Baldwin and his shot was palmed wide for a corner.
11 minutes and Salamis were 2 goals up. A slick move from them saw them cross and beat Dan McAteer easily again from close range. A couple of minutes later they should have scored again, hitting the crossbar and Dan McAteer grabbed the ball as it came down. The next 15 minutes saw Salamis hit another few shots which were wide or saved. Just after 30 minutes and Salamis were through again, just a great tackle from Luke Nugent denying them a goalscoring opportunity.
Just before half time Alfi Touceda played a great ball down the line to Charlie Ogle, he hit a cross which eluded all and the half time whistle went. 2-0 Salamis. Steve Bateman made two changes at half time. Ollie Lemon and new signing, Jon Munday were introduced for Dan Ball and Gael Muyonge. The first few minutes saw Dynamos attacking and Callum Shortt had a couple of chances, one was saved and one was over the bar. Ollie Lemon provided another opportunity with a lovely chip into the box but Callum Shortt’s shot was saved.
52 minutes and Dan McAteer fails to control a strong Terry Griffiths back pass and Salamis capitalise to make it 3-0. 57 minutes and Terry Griffiths was adjudged to have fouled their nippy winger in the box and the referee called a penalty. Converted. 4-0 Salamis. 63 minutes and a rare attack from Dynamos. Callum Shortt beats his man and swings a cross in which Jake Baldwin heads just over. A few minutes later it was Callum Shortt again causing problems. This time he crossed to Charlie Ogle and he controlled well and hit a shot against the crossbar and over. Close.
Dan McAteer was then called into action and pulled off a great save. 77 minutes and Dan Boateng was introduced, coming on for Charlie Ogle. With 10 minutes left Salamis made it 5 goals as they beat the offside trap and walked the ball over the line. In the last minute, Salamis made it 6-0 as Dynamos came back to earth with a big bump.
