New boss Steve Bateman, only appointed yesterday evening, took charge of the team as they fell to their seventh defeat in a row against a hard working but ultimately very beatable Beaconsfield side.
New man Danny Burnell made the perfect start and gave The Moles the lead after only four minutes when Jamie Rudd found himself on the right touchline, he cut inside and his left footed cross, appearing to be going too long was poked home by the debutant striker much to the delight of the sizeable Aylesbury support. Beaconsfield though didn't take a backward step and pressured the Aylesbury goal with a series of corners which came to nothing but Rhys Marshall was forced to save at the feet of a Beaconsfield attacker a few minutes later. SYCOB had a lot of the ball in the first half and always looked threatening with Zak Joseph and Brian Haule leading the line and after 21 minutes they equalised, Aston Goss running with the ball in midfield, slipped and was disposessed and from the resulting attack and with FC on the back foot Zak Joseph scored as he poked the ball past Marshall. There was attack and counter attack as the two teams vied for superiority and half chances fell to both sides, Jamie Rudd shot wide from 20 yards and after a mix up in the Aylesbury defence Rhys Marshall went on walkabout outside his area chasing the ball but Beaconsfield couldn't capitalise.
HT Beaconsfield 1 Aylesbury 1
The second half began as the first had ended with FC a little on the back foot and Kwasi Frempong, who had already been booked in the first half, committed a foul just outside the box. Marshall, who appeared to be positioned incorrectly was easily beaten by the resultant free kick as Nathan Poulton floated the ball into the corner. FC then had chances as an Aston Goss shot was deflected away for a corner and then Ben Stevens had a shot which went wide. The changes were rung with Westlake, Simpson and Price replacing Frempong, Kedzierski and Goss but FC appeared to struggle to create any clear opportunities and with just a minute to go Marshall bought down a SYCOB striker , was rightfully booked and the penalty was tucked home by ex-Mole Wayne O'Sullivan.
So some food for thought for Steve Bateman who now has a week to make any changes before FC entetain Uxbridge next weekend.
