On a slick pitch at Haywood Way Egham started well and within 6 minutes Jamie Read had a shot from the edge of the box which Marshall tipped behind for a corner. Immediately after Gareth Price marauding down the wing fired the ball across the six yard area but the ball was cut out before it arrived at a sliding Lamar Simpson. There were chances at both ends as the weather worsened and the rain fell more heavily and Egham's Jamie Read had another opportunity but shot wide. Price and Simpson continued to trouble the Egham defence on a number of occasions but without any real cutting edge to hurt the away team and on 36 minutes FC were made to pay when Luke Muldowney shot hard and low from 20 yards and found the bottom oorner as Egham took the lead. FC continued to make chances but just couldn't put the ball away, Jerome Federico and Lamar Simpson then combined but again Simpson failed to put the ball away. Egham continued to press and Marshall kept them out with an excellent save from a free kick.
HT FC 0 Egham Town 1
after 51 minutes Egham broke away and somehow Rhys Marshall made two fantastic saves to keep Egham out but just a minute later Richard Byrne climbed above the FC defence to header Egham into a two goal lead. FC looked devoid of ideas as the half went on and ten minutes from the end Reiis Stanislaus made it three.
