So 49 days after the last match ended and the Dynamos were back in action against high flying Biggleswade United at Haywood Way. The new goals and new fencing looking fantastic, the tea bar was open for business and there was a buzz again as football returned. The buzz lasted 49 seconds as Biggleswade took kick off, knocked it around, played it forward beating the offside trap and Dave Parkinson beat Dan McAteer. 0-1.

The Dynamos finally touched the ball and Alfi Touceda played in Dan Lambeth but his shot was well saved.6 minutes in and surely the equaliser…Dan Lambeth was sent through on goal by Lamar Mason-Williams and his shot hit the base of the “new” post and out for a goal kick. Very unlucky. Junior Gyamfi then showed some skill to beat his man and play in Lamar Mason-Williams and his first time effort is wide of the mark. Aykesbury were playing well.

Quarter of an hour played and Afi Touceda worked the ball out to Jake Baldwin who sprinted forward, beat his man and hit a cross which just eluded Dan Lambeth and was cleared. Positive work from the team. 23 minutes in and Biggleswade beat the offside trap again…it was a close call…but Codi Lee-Spavins slid the ball home. 0-2. Shame after the home were having the majority of possession.

Aylesbury were back on the attack, first Junior Gyamfi has a great opportunity as Dave Brown picks him out with a superb cross, but Junior’s header goes wide. Moments later Charlie Jackson won a corner and swung it in himself, but Alex McGowan has his header saved.29 minutes and Biggleswade had their third meaningful attack…and their 3rd goal. Defensive error and Codi Lee-Spavins did the rest beating Dan McAteer. 0-3.

Five minutes later and the Dynamos were still looking, Junior Gyamfi crossed to Jake Baldwin who volleyed inches wide. Again, good play and unlucky. With 5 minutes remaining of the half Dave Brown stole the ball and passed to Dan Lambeth, he hit a shot which was blocked and the ball fell to Alfi Touceda who thumped a wicked shot inches over the bar. In the last minute of the half, Jake Baldwin managed to get forward, beat a couple of players and hit an unstoppable shot past the keeper and into the bottom corner. 1-3 – Half Time.

Aylesbury came out fighting in the second half and early on Sam Austin’s quick throw found Junior Gyamfi, he swivelled and hit a shot over the bar. Moments later Charlie Jackson found Junior Gyamfi again and he beat his man and hit a great shot but the keeper was equal to it. The next goal would be vital and on 55 minutes a harmless ball forward was completely missed by Dan McAteer, leaving Codi Lee-Spavins to tap into an empty net for an easy hat trick. 1-4.

Jake Baldwin was in the wars and went down again after another challenge, this time Phil Granville decided to replace him with Lewis Workman and shuffle the team with Lamar Mason-Williams moving back. 61 minutes and Alfi Touceda picked out Dan Lambeth who didn’t have his scoring boots on as his great shot beat the keeper and went inches wide. A minute later Junior Gyamfi went into the book for a late challenge. Phil Granville made his final two changes on 66 minutes with Alfie Gaspar and Kevin Owusu coming on to replace Dave Brown and Charlie Jackson.

Aylesbury were still attacking well and Alfie Gaspar was straight into action finding Lewis Workman who curled a decent effort over the bar.
At the other end however, things were not looking good as another Biggleswade attack beat our defence and scored to make it 1-5. 73 minutes and Dynamos looked to have given up as Biggleswade walked through the defence and missed an open goal somehow with Dynamos just looking on. The Biggleswade substitute didn’t have to wait too long to score as Biggleswade danced around the defence and beat Dan McAteer to make it 1-6.

79 minutes and another attack saw Dan McAteer tip a great shot over, but the next attack saw them hit another goal as Biggleswade made the score a total embarrassment at 1-7. A small ray of sunshine on 87 minutes as the energetic Kevin Owusu picked up a ball from Alfi Touceda and lobbed the away keeper from 25 yards out to get a great goal and make the score 2-7.

The final action was a bit strange as Alfi Touceda looked to have been sin binned…but the referee mis-heard him complaining and promptly sent him off…not really sure why!?!?
