FC travelled to the home of the Curfews on Saturday on a lovely warm Saturday afternoon after two excellent results during the previous week and with hopes high of finishing the season on a positive note, however it was Chertsey who had the first chance Johnston's shot hit Mark Knight and the ball struck the bar and bounced back where John Pomeroy lay in wait but his header was well saved by The Moles Keeper Richard Roberts.
Chertsey had a second chance not soon after but the majority of the play seemed to be in the midfield third without much endeavour in either team's penalty box, but midway through the first half Aylesbury took the lead when Lamar Simpson pounced on a Chertsey back pass and rounded the keeper to finish in style. Within 5 minutes Aylesbury had doubled the lead when a mazy run by Sonny French ended with the ball being slipped into Shiblu Mah who stroked the ball passed the Chertsey keeper
HT 0-2
The Cufews had much the better of the second half and with a little luck might have dragged themselves back into the game, Pomroy had a chance which he blasted over and on sixty mnutes Chertsey pulled a goal back with the best action of the half, the home team were awarded a free kick outside the box, the ball was cleared by FC but only as far as Ricky Hodgson who buried the ball in the top corner from 20 plus yards. Chertsey dominated possesion for the rest of the half but Ben Stevens, Ronanyne Marsh-Brown and the rest of the back four stood firm for their second win on the bounce and looking forward to the revers fixture on Tuesday Evening KO 7.45PM
