The Preverbial Game of Two Halves as The Dynamos take the points

Manager Paul Bonham again made some changes as the side struggle with injuries and unavailabilty. New signing Harry Dalton came into partner Keith Mupfururirwa in attack and Jacob Troughton-Smith slotted in at left back with Carl Tappin moving to hos preferred position in the centre of midfield.

This was the preverbial game of two halves with a strong wind blowing from the Bicester Road end of the ground having a major effect on the game. Baldock had the benefit in the first half and made immediate use as the home defence struggled to cope with the ball over the top. Almost from the kick off Aylesbury's defensive troubles were obvious to see as James Weatherill was called on to storm off his line and head clear. Weatherill then looked to see a long ball out of play under pressure from Piggott, but the Baldock striker picked his pocket, laid off Holland who had an open goal to aim at but curled wide of the far post.

The early pressure told on four minutes when Baldock's Scott Piggott latched onto yet another long ball and lobbed the advancing James Weatherill to open the scoring. This looked like it was going to be a very long afternoon. Dan Wilson then made a brilliant challenge to take the ball off of the toe of Piggott as he looked to pull the trigger and extend the lead.

The Dynamos were caught napping again after twenty minutes, Piggott this time drove into the box, rounded Weatherill and hit the side netting from an acute angle. It was all Baldock as wave upon wave was repelled by the home defense but as the half went on the away side seemed to get frustrated with their inability to capitalise on their clear advantage. Aylesbury had one opportunity as the break approached when Bruno Brito shot from twenty five yards out but the ball flew wide.

Half Time ACDFC 0 Baldock Town 1

There was an immediate change as the second half begun with Aylesbury on the attack, Joe Fitzgerald latched onto a clearance but blazed over the bar, then Great build up play from the Dynamos on the right lead to Carl Tappin collecting the ball on the edge of the box before shooting straight at the keeper.

Aylesbury were then awarded a free kick some forty yards out and with the wind behind him Bruno Brito stepped up, with fans all around saying he's not going to is he? well he did, he struck an absolute firecracker and it beat the keeper all ends up smashed the underside of the cross bar and in! Game on.

The home side then took the lead after sixty three minutes, Alfi Touceda fed Keith Mupfururirwa on the left flank, the winger charged into the box and put the ball on a plate for debutant Harry Dalton who tapped home on his Dynamos debut from a couple of yards out! It was now all Aylesbury and with their tails up they had chance after chance, Carl Tappin intercepted a poor Baldock clearance, played a one-two with Brito but rolled his effort wide of the far post. Harry Dalton then beat the Baldock offside trap, rounded Harpur before much like Piggott in the first half but fired into the side netting.

The third did eventually come late on when a quality pass from Brito saw Alfi Touceda go one on one with Harpur. The youngster finished with a cheeky lob over the onrushing keeper! The scoring came to an end in the last minute when a class ball over the top from Tappin was taken down brilliantly by Brito who volleyed home first time for his second of the day!

A poor first half followed by a fantastic second half performance and perhaps four of the best goals seen at Haywood Way for some time.
