Manager Danny Gordon was without Ty Deacon, Jordan Jenkins, Lee Stobbs and Mark Lambert which meant a re shuffle in defence. JJ Lofthouse-Smith partnered Ben Stevens at the centre of the defence and Georges Ehui moved from midfield to the right back birth. Jonny Montgomery returned to the midfield and Alan Musoke replaced Ty Deacon up front.
It was a pretty lacklustre first half an hour with very little action bar a couple of half chances with Jonny Montgomery firing wide and Alan Musoke rippeling the side netting. Then on the half hour Egham had the first real chance with Chris Moore firing the ball against the foot of the post. Then Moore spun away from Ben Stevens and the FC captain bought the Sarnies striker down.. From the resulting free kick Peter Dean found Daly, whose header was just wide. Soon after and it was Egham deservedly who took the lead as Daly slid in a ball that found Matthew and the Egham striker took the ball round Ben Stevens and Ashley Jenkins before slotting the ball home.
Just before the break E=gham extended their lead this time Matthew turning provider for Chris Moore who again slotted the ball home neatly for a 2-0 lead at the break. FC would have to take solace from the game Saturday when again they had gone in 2-0 down only to come out and dominate the second half and when Alan Musoke bustled through the defence before firing in an angled shot to make it 2-1, was the fightback on? It was made much harder when on fifty five minutes midfielder Vinny Greco was shown a straight red for a high tackle on Carey. From that point FC found it difficult to get any foothold on the game and Egham had a number of chances to extend their lead
Three minutes from the end Matthew was knocked over in the box by Danny Gordon and Matthew converted the penalty kick to extend the lead and finish the game off.
