Whether the result was a valuable point in the fight for survival or two points dropped, will only become clear at the end of the season. Although relegation rivals Histon moved to within 6 points of FC, Northwood lost for the 7th game in a row allowing the Moles to leapfrog them into 19th position.

In a nutshell, the game was instantly forgettable. Alex O'Brien was one men who did come out of the game with a huge amount of credit and his low shot past the post on 10 minutes was the first real effort in anger. A slide rule pass was then played to the distinctive looking Michael Murray who should have done much better, instead blasting the effort over the bar.

Aston Goss and Brian Haule combined a few moments later but the experienced duo could not quite fashion an opening when deep in the opposition box and the away defence eventually composed themselves before clearing the ball. Ty Deacon flicked a header just over the bar just before the quarter of an hour mark as the game threatened to spark to life. Ashley Jenkins was one of the few on the pitch who were on the top of his game. His crucial save on 22 minutes from a short Ashley Nathaniel George strike prevented a certain goal. The best chance thus far of the game fell to Charlie Hawtin on 30 minutes. His barnstorming left field run allowed him to unleash a decent shot that whistled just wide of the post.

Potters Bar took a firm grip on the game and during this spell Rob Hastings sent in a speculative lob that Jenkins tipped over the bar just to be on the safe side before Murray tested the FC keeper for the second time. It was FC however, who could have taken a lead into half time when Aston Goss delivered a cross shot which pinged off the crossbar much to the surprise of Berkeley Laurencin.

Charlie Hawton played in Glen Yala for a half chance on 51 minutes whilst at the other end, Hastings tested Jenkins' reflexes with a quick break from midfield. Soon afterwards Ty Deacon played in O'Brien who whilst leaning backwards was unlucky to crack the ball just wide. Brian Haule sliced the ball over the bar in the next move.
As the game entered the final quarter of an hour, Hastings again broke the FC offside trap and once again, Jenkins was equal to it as he made a perfect sliding tackle on the forward. Aston Goss hit another shot wide of the post before a chance presented itself that the team should really have profited from. A dangerous corner saw the ball nodded down by Brian Haule into the path of Deacon. Ty was in several minds to control or volley. In the end he did neither instead hitting an air shot, allowing Potters Bar to clear.

O'Brien and Glenn Yala linked well with Yala knocking his shot again wide of the post. As the seconds counted down, Carl McClusky witnessed his strike blocked bravely by Jordan Jenkins. A scooped shot by Brian Haule came to nothing before O'Brien recorded the half's first on-target shot which Laurencin stooped to collect. A half shout for a Potters Bar penalty deep in injury time failed to impress the referee allowing him to blow his whistle and allowing the analysis to begin.
