The win was enhanced even further as news came through of defeats for every one of FC's rivals at the foot of the table, thus enhancing the Moles' chances of survival.
A teasing cross from Charlie Hawtin was the first attacking move of the game, however no teammate read his intentions and the chance was wasted. Ben Stevens did have a clear view of goal a few minutes later and in truth should have made the game 1-0 to FC and only an outstretched boot from Becky's Mohammed Ayoub prevented a certain goal. That early running could have been wasted as Charlie Lossaso beat FC keeper James Weatherill to an errant back pass with the home striker sweeping the ball just wide. Joe Hartley has been a revelation since his debut for FC and he came very close, scooping the ball over the bar from a few feet before Jack Lyons produced the move of the game so far, ending with his crashing shot being tipped over the bar by an alert Weatherill.
Lewis Hayden tried a cheeky chip over Ayoub in the 24th minute however, the accuracy was lacking and it floated wide of the target. It couldn't have been easy for FC boss Davis Haule to see his team struggle to create a chance of note but on 25 minutes one did arrive and was unfortunately squandered as Hartley dallied with a clear sight of the target before blasting the ball wide.
There was relief for Davis too when he saw Jack McKnight's searing drive beat Weatherill before the ball pinged off the goal post. This was clearly a warning to the FC defence and Weatherill had to be very sure of himself when he tipped Callum Bunting's lofted shot onto the bar and away for a corner. This spell of pressure eventually paid dividends for Beaconsfield when Losasso played a neat one-two with a teammate before sliding the ball past a beaten keeper for 1-0.
The break gave FC time to think and their response on the restart was perfect. Only two minutes had elapsed when Aston Goss was given the freedom of Holloway Park as he coasted in from the left hand side before gliding the ball underneath a sprawling Ayoub.
This Becky team have had a fine season with just one defeat in 2017, a bizarre sounding 6-4 defeat at Royston in early January. It was therefore against the form guide when Lewis Hayden barnstormed his way through a static home defence before unselfishly feeding a grateful Brian Haule who blitzed the ball home for 2-1. Haule threatened to increase the lead still further when he collected a poor goal kick however his final effort curled just the wrong side of the post.
Ryan Hill delivered an inch perfect cross to Callum Bunting but his header was directed straight at Weatherill. It was a very decent chance to equalise and with that miss went the home team's chances of getting anything from the game.
Brian Haule was by this stage unplayable and his all action style saw him muscle into the box before hurtling a missile of a shot into the roof of the net for 3-1. As the game entered injury time, tensions boiled over in a disorganised fracas with most of the 22 players involved. It appeared as if the referee had finally gained control but the dispute resumed as play moved further down the field. Brian Haule, appeared to take a couple of knocks and under the referee's gaze, lashed out thereby earning himself an unnecessary red card.
FC responded to this setback by simply adding a fourth. Ty Deacon, a man eager to show his worth to the new management team, did his cause no harm at all as he chased down an errant back pass before slotting home and putting the seal on an afternoon that keeper Ayoub would rather forget.
