With Alex O'Brien unavailable and Ben Bateman and Josh Bamford injured, Manager Davis Haule started Himself in midfield, brought back Ben Stevens in the centre of defence and started David Carty and Ty Deacon.

It was striker Deacon that put the Moles ahead after 13 minutes but a first half penalty from Dean Allen and a goal just before half time sealed the points for the home side.

The management team though, will be pleased with the overall performance on a very difficult pitch and with new players due in this week and two training sessions ahead, the team will go into next weekend's game at Bedford with renewed optimism.

On a bright but cold afternoon the only game that went ahead in the division was at Hanwell. The pitch was difficult but playable and from the start both teams played possession football without creating too much in the final third of the pitch. After thirteen minutes FC played the ball across the field twenty-five yards out, exploiting a clear gap between the Hanwell midfield and the back four. An unmarked Ty Deacon received the ball and dribbled infield from Hanwell’s right and bent a low shot towards the far post. Melvin Minter seemed to get a hand to the ball as he dived full length but it was not enough to prevent the shot from curling in.

Hanwell tried to respond and ten minutes later Bill Healey shot BUT did not trouble Ashley Jenkins in the Aylesbury goal. Two minutes later Hanwell were level. A ball into the Aylesbury area bounced up and seemed to be handled by Lewis Hayden. The referee pointed to the spot and Dean Allen kept up his successful run of penalties by slotting the ball into the bottom corner. Both teams continued to try to play a passing game as the half progressed but every now and again a slip or stumble revealed that the pitch was not an easy surface on which to play. As half-time approached Mark Jamison played a neat one-two with Allen before slipping the ball inside the full back to Lamar Simpson. The latter player then raced into the area and played the ball into the six yard box where the cross was met by Healey and the home side were in front.

The second half began with FC once again stringing together a number of passes without being able to get past the Hanwell back four where Michael Buckley, covering for the suspended Tom Duffy, was doing a good job alongside Calum Duffy. The game began to get rather tetchy as players mistimed their challenges and the referee needed to wave a couple of yellow cards, one at the hard-working Tyler Christian-Law for a heavy challenge.

The speedy Courtney Austin came on with twenty minutes to go and immediately latched on to a through ball. He crossed low into the box but Dean Allen failed to hit the target from ten yards out.

A good run and cross by Ex FC player Lamar Simpson, in the eighty-fifth minute was met by Allen but the volley was blocked by the Moles defence. As the game entered stoppage time a Hanwell player appeared to be brought down as he raced into the box but nothing was given and the game ended with the home side taking all three points but Aylesbury came away in postitve mood after another improved performance
