On Tuesday the players had no answer to a similar situation against Barton, but four days on from that defeat there was a renewed vigour and a never say die attitude as a brace from James Faulkner and a stunnning winner from Ty Deacon settled a pulsating game.
With JJ Lofthouse-Smith unavailable new signing Oliver Emsden slotted in at left back, Dylan Cascoe came back into the side and the second debutant, Andre Olukamni, started from the bench.
It was unsurprisingly promotion chasing Farnborough who started the better of the two sides, after two minutes Nic Cardini skipped past Mark Lambert and crossed but the ball just evaded Farnborough striker Perry Coles. It was Coles who then had the best chance of the game. Picking the ball up on the left edge of the box, he turned and fired a shot which FC keeper Ashley Jenkins tipped over the bar.
The home side did have half chances but were finding it difficult to get a foothold. Kieron Turner, playing in a more central midfield role clipped the ball to Lee Stobbs who was as ever raiding down the right side, but his low hard cross into the box was cleared by the keeper before the ball could arrive at James Faulkner's feet.
The away sides opener came after twenty four minutes, the ever dangerous Cardini got round the back of Lambert fired in a cross which Coles got on the end of, forcing a save from Jenkins, but the ball popped back out and was struck home from close range by Dennis Oli.
Aylesbury's best chance of the half came just before Farnborough's second, Turner and Stobbs again combined down the right, Stobbs knocked the ball into Faulkner who ran across the edge of the box and fired in a dangerous shot which was well held by the away keeper. Farnborough then forced a corner at the other end and the ball in was met by Josh Huggins who fired in a bullet header to make it 0-2 and most Moles fans would have thought that was that.
The second half though started with FC in the ascendance. Dylan Cascoe had a shot which was heading for the top corner, deflected away. George Ehui then fired a ball crossfield to Stobbs his cross found Faulkner with his back to goal and after a bit of juggling his overhead kick/flick was saved by Driscoll.
Farnborough nearly extended their lead on fifty five minutes but an excellent save by Ashley Jenkins from Denis Oli kept the away side at bay. Then after 61 minutes the bit of luck that FC have probably needed all season, a long ball over the top wasn't dealt with by Driscoll and with Faulkner almost giving up on the chase he found the ball at his feet thirty yards out and with the keeper just in front of him, he chipped the ball into an empty net. The home sides tails were now up and three minutes later Aylesbury forced a corner and from the resultant cross from Turner the Haywood Way faithful were sent into raptures as Faulkner slammed the ball home for the equaliser. It was now all FC as they sensed blood and their first three point haul at home this year.
New signing Andre Olukamni, having been introduced earlier in the half, was causing the away side all sorts of problems with his jinking, mazy runs and was attacking at every opportunity. James Faulkner nearly got his third when a ball into his path from Mark Lambert was struck by the big striker, over the keepers head, but bounced off the inside of the post and away to safety. Was the comeback going to happen? With time running out Ty Deacon picked the ball up on the right side, darted between two defenders and fired a shot from twenty yards across the keeper and into the net. The crowd almost lifted the roof off of Haywood Way as the home side had completed the comeback for their first home win of the season.
