After the defeat to Ware at the weekend Manager Danny Gordon would have been looking for a much improved performance against promotion chasing Barton. Mark Lambert replaced Victor Ocansey at right back with Jordan Jenkins returning to the side in the centre of the defence & with Dylan Cascoe unavailable James Faulkner joined Ty Deacon up front in a two man attack.

The homes side started well and after just seven minutes Vinny Greco picked up the ball some twenty five yards out on the left hand side and with nothing appearing to be fine hit a left foot drive that just sailed over the cross bar with Fulton in the Barton goal beaten. George Ehui then found Lee Stobbs with a cross field pass but his cross from the right wing was cut out by the Barton defence.

Barton did have their moments though, a long ball over the FC defence was collected by Ash Jenkins but his hurried clearance fell to a Barton player who hit it fist time and had the Aylesbury keeper scrambling to recover and collect the shot. Then as has happened so many times this season the opposition took the lead, a well struck shot was saved by Jenkins but the ball fell loose in the area and in trying to clear, Ben Stevens was adjudged to have bought down a Barton player and Dan Hutchins dispatched the resulting penalty to make it 1-0.

The home side were now playing a lot deeper and the chances were becoming fewer but on thirty one minutes Georges Ehui found himself twenty five yards out and with nothing else on he struck a low powerful shot which was saved. Barton then scored their second which killed the game. An error by Ben Stevens on the left hand side, let in Coughlan and he fired a cross from the by line which Eliot Bailey flicked past Ash Jenkins to double the away sides lead.

Ten minutes into the second half and Aylesbury looked like they might get back into the game. Vinny Greco picked the ball up on the right hand side of the Barton box, twisted and turned the defender, fired in a cross with his right foot and a Barton hand deflected the ball away. James Faulkner stepped up and calmly slotted the ball home. The home side then appeared to raise their game and looked like they might equalise, a good move involving Ehiu, Mark Lambert and Faulkner which ended with a shot from the big Centre Forward which Fulton pushed behind for a corner. Ben Stevens then hit a long cross ball pass which was collected by Lee Stobbs on the right and his low cross just evaded Faulkner in the box for what looked likely to be the equaliser.

Then out of the blue on seventy minutes Barton's Keating fired in a shot which Jenkins saved well, parrying the ball onto the cross bar but the ball fell to Jason Blackett who fired home for a 3-1 lead. The Aylesbury heads then went down and two minutes later Orlando-Young fired home past Jenkins. The away side should have made it five just before the end when Ben Stevens appeared to handle in the area but Orlando-Young's spot kick was saved by Jenkins.

The player's were still in the changing room an hour after the final whistle and there's a lot of soul searching and work to do before the home game this weekend against big spending Farnborough Town
