Manager Danny Gordon decided to freshen things up after the defeat at Ashford at the weekend. Victor Ocansey & Ben Bateman were dropped from the matchday squad. Danny Gordon himself came in at Right Back, new signing Joe Fitzgerald continued in front of the back four. Attacking midfielder Elias Moses started his first game ahead of Aaron Couch and Ty Deacon came in on the bench.

As ever it was a pretty frantic opening but the game soon settled down into what in the end was a pretty drab midfield battle, United having more of the possession without ever dominating. FC though did have chances but neither keeper was really ever tested. On eight minutes a drive into the box from Elias Moses was halted as he went between two United players and went down in the box prompting calls from the home supporters for a penalty which were waived away.

Soon after Taylor Collins from the away side went in hard on Ben Stevens and gave the referee no option but to bring out a yellow card. It was a challenge by the forward that was uneccessary, rash and one that Collins would later regret.

Ollie Stanbridge had the next chance but his volley after a Bewley cross sailed well over Ashley Jenkins and the FC goal. Kieron Turner then found himelf on the edge of the Utd box, wih nothing else really on he shifted the ball onto his left foot but shot didn't really trouble Oualah in the United goal.

The best chance of the half fell to Martin Griggs, still waiting to open his FC account. A ball forward fell to Lee Stobbs who flicked the ball over the onrushing defender, found Turner on the right wing and his low cross to the far post didn't quite fall right for Griggs and he wasn't able to get a shot off and so the move was snuffed out.

Play was held up for almost 5 minutes just before half time. A late challenge from Lee Stobbs saw United Captian Jack Wood on the ground needing treatment. Stobbs was shown a yellow card for the tackle, from the resulting freekick Keeper Oualah almost scored what would have been an amazing goal, his long ball into the area almost outwittng Ashley Jenkins but the ball landed on the top of the FC net with Jenkins struggeling to get back.

The first action of the second half again involved Taylor Collins and Ben Stevens. Collins again went in late on the FC Captain leaving him writhing in agony on the floor and after the first half tackle there was no real option but the for ref to show the second yellow and a red to the young striker.

On the hour, a long ball forward to Mark Lambert was laid back to the impressive Joe Fitzgerald, but his shot from 20 yards flew over the away goal.

Down to Ten men it was United that took a grip on the game as the home side seemed unable to utilise the one man advantage. The game looked like it would be petering out for a draw but on 77 minutes substitute Cameron clipped a ball to ex Mole Sonny French on the edge of the box and he cut inside to finish low past a despaiting Jenkins dive and that was that as FC offered nothing more and The Ducks went home with the bragging rights
