With Jeanmal Prosper absent to due to a family bereavement, Grant Fryer slotted in at right back and Ben Stevens partnered the returnng Kyle Anthony at the centre of the defence.
It was former Egham striker Ryan O'Toole who had the first chance of the game but his shot as he cut in was parried away by the Egham keeper. The game swayed back and forth with neither team dominating but Egham were starting to exert pressure with chances falling to Brendan Matthew and Bajram Pashaj. On 31minutes the Egham midfielder was dismisssed from the field after two yellow cards and should have increased The Moles chances of taking all three points but that was not to be. The Sarnies then had a goal disallowed after Reece Yorke ran on to a free kick and headed into the net only to have the goal chalked out for offside.
Five minutes into the second half and Ryan O'Toole was felled by the keeper in the box for an obvious penalty but his spot kick was skied over the bar, it wasn't quite as bad as the horrendous Gareth Price effort two or three years ago, but it wasn't good! Almost straight away O'Toole could and perhaps should have made up for the penalty miss but for a goal line clearance by Reece Yorke. Even with a one man advantage FC were not really controlling the game and Egham got their decisive goal on sixty three minutes, Keeper James Weatherill partially cleared a corner to Matthew who slotted the ball home from close range. FC huffed andpuffed and forced Egham back withpout ever really causing major concern to the defence . Egham were down to nine men after Mason Yorke was dismissed for a two footed challenge on Ben Bateman. Ben Stevens had a late volley saved by Norris O'Toole had one more chance to snatch a point but his shot was well saved by the Egham keeper low down at the foot of the post.
This was a poor performance from The Moles and one which they musty quickly put behind them as they face both Chalfont on Tuesday and Kings Langley next weekend
