With Kyle Anthony and Danny Murphy out injured and with Ben Stevens unavailable it was an unfamiliar back four that took to the pitch with Nathan Bowden-Haase partnering Grant Fryer at the centre of defence. Ryan O'Toole replaced Brian Haule at the point of the attack and it was two goals from O'Toole that decided the game and brought the 3 points back to Bucks
It was important after the defeats at Brentwood and Beaconsfield to get back on track and it was an organised and determined Aylesbury FC team that got to grips with the heavy conditions at Garden Walk and got on with their jobs.
In recent weeks it has been the opposition that seemed to start the quicker but today it was Aylesbury that were straight out of the blocks and took the lead through Ryan O'Toole on three minutes as he broke through the centre of the defence slotting the ball past the helpless Royston keeper. That helped to calm the nerves against a Royston side who, at the end of the season, will be pushing for a promotion place. Royston then seemed to get a grip on the game but with no real thrust up front. There were a series of corners but albeit for a goal which was disallowed for a push on James Weatherill the FC keeper was rarely troubled.
Continued Crows pressure up to half time demonstrated overall dominance in game play but the Moles defended well whilst the Royston strike force could not fashion any real clear attempts on target, sometimes looking shot shy and hesitant and with the defence of Prosper, Bowden-Haase, Fryer and Dobson holding firm
Royston's lack of penetration in front of goal was ultimately to be their down fall and on sixty five minutes O'Toole's second killed off any chance of a come back as gain he slotted under Royston keeper Ron Yates for a neat finish.
Overall an excellent performance from Aylesbury on a difficult surface and one which takes the Moles back to Fourth.
