After the defeat at Potters Bar last weekend it was imperative for the team to get back to winning ways and keep promotion hopes on track. Ben Stevens came into replace the unavailable Grant Fryer at the back and Jon Montgomery made his first league appearance after injury during pre season.
It was the home side that were quickest out of the blocks and after just three minutes a driven cross from the right by Ryan O'Toole looked like it was going to find the diving head of Brian Haule but the big striker could only glance the ball wide.Soon after a long ball from the back from Ben Stevens found James Dobson on the left edge of the box but his shot was saved by McCarthey in the Uxbridge goal. Although it was Aylesbury who were having the best of the first half the experienced Wayne Carter in the middle of the away sides midfield was always looking to probe FCs defence with piercing passes. It was still though Aylesbury creating the clearer cut chances and after 32 minutes Brian Haule collected the ball just outside the box but his lofted shot just went over. Just before the half ended a through ball from the imperious Kyle Anthony found Ryan O'Toole on the left edge of the box, he cut indside but his shot sailed over the bar. It was Anthony again just before the break who took the ball from the edge of his own area, inside the opposition half and slipped in James Dobson, he cut inside but his weak shot was saved.
HT FC 0 Uxbridge 0
Uxbridge took advantage of FCs slow start to the second half and almost immediately were one up, a ball into the FC box wasn't dealt with and from now where Lewis Cole pounced and fired past James Weatherill for the lead. On 55 minutes The Moles equalised, James Dobson's ball found O'Toole in the box he turned and fired but the ball hit a defender and cannoned out to the on rushing Dobson who fired home hard and low from 25 yards to make it 1-1. Although Aylesbury were now in the ascendancy it was Uxbridge who should have taken the lead on 70 minutes, a corner fired in found Mitchell Wiseman free at the back post but he headed weakly wide of the post.
Dobson then again grazed the post with another 25 yard screamer and with just minutes to go interplay between substitute Gareth Price and Ken Feyi saw the young striker get to the byeline and cut the ball back to Davis Haule, who had made a 60 yard run but he screwed his shot wide and the home fans though that was that. But with 3 minutes if injury time played a corner fizzed in by Danny Murphy was met by Ben Stevens and his bullet header into the back of the net settled the game.
