which meant it was a nervous last few minutes for The Moles.
After a disappointing September it was imperative that Aylesbury got back to winning ways and with Bedford losing their Manager the day before the game and the team appearing to be in a little turmoil all the omens looked good. It was Aylesbury that started marginally the better of the two sides with the first chance falling to James Dobson but he dragged his shot wide from 25 yards out. Dobson then put in a free kick which was met by Kyle Anthony but his looping header was cleared. Bedford then went down the other end, Tremayne Charles cut in from the left but his curling shot was parried away by James Weatherill.
Midway through the first half Ben Bateman was pulled back jut outside the box, the resulting Ryan O'Toole free kick beat everyone and Ben Stevens coming in at the far post was just unable to meet it. FC were controlling the game with some nice passing football and on 36 minutes took the lead, the ball came out to Man of The Match Jamie Rudd, he controlled, twisted and turned the Bedford defence and fired home from 25 yards.
Half Time 1-0
The second half started as the first had finished with Aylesbury very much in the ascendancy, Daniel Murphy and Dobson were probing down the left hand side and David Haule prowling around the centre of the midfield, it was one of those left hand moves that eventually found Dobson who crossed into the box but Brian Haule headed over under pressure from the centre half.
The second goal came on 66 minutes, a ball into the Bedford box was cleared, but only to Jamie Rudd who's looping cross was met by Haule who headed calmly in to the net. Then on 72 minutes a moment of genius from Davis Haule, the ball was cleaerd and Haule 40 yards out volleyed the ball back over the keepers head and off the underside of the ross bar which wouldf have been a contender for goal of the season.
And that should have been that but a Bedford goal from Josh Bamford three minutes from time meant the last moments of the game were a little more tense for the home fans. All in all three points gained and it's off to St Ives on Tuesday.
