Lambeth brace seals victory away at Baldock !

Baldock Town 3-4 AVDFC

Team: Charlie Jones; Max Rosner, Jake Baldwin, Charlie Attwell, Terry Griffiths; Dave Brown, Rio Deall, Evans Lamboh, Abu Khan; Lewis Workman, Dan Lambeth

Subs: Curtis Brown, Antonio Ianelli, Jet Dyer, Sadibo Camara

Jordan and James were looking for the team to bounce back against Baldock Town, who started a place above us in the League.
Dave Brown was back in the team after a few weeks out injured. Jack Empson was still serving his ban and Charlie Jackson and Chris Stapleton are still injured.
Captain Terry Griffiths was back in action after getting married...and was available for his 75th match for Dynamos.

The first 10 minutes saw Baldock start the brighter, but no efforts to worry Charlie Jones in goal. Evans Lamboh was taken down cynically in the middle of the park on 10 minutes but surprisingly no card.
Charlie Attwell was on hand to make a great tackle after quarter of an hour as Baldock looked the most likely to make the breakthrough.
Jones was on hand to make a great save for Dynamos as he palmed a strong shot away for a corner.

25 minutes in and Rio picked up a loose ball but was taken down. Freekick to Dynamos. Rio dusted himself down and floated his free kick onto the head of Lambeth who guided it past the keeper and into the net. 1-0 Dynamos.
31 minutes and Baldock were level. Baldwin threw the ball in, but Griffiths wasn’t aware and their striker stole the ball and lobbed Jones from 30 yards out…shame…! 1-1.

With five minutes left, Workman collected a ball out from Dave Brown and released Lamboh down the left wing. He slipped the ball into Lambeth and received a ball back hitting a decent effort which a defender managed to get his head to and clear.
The resulting corner saw Baldwin curl the ball in and, who else, Lambeth beat his marker to the ball and plant his header in the back of the net. 1-2 Dynamos.
Rio Deall picked up a yellow card moments before the half time interval.

Half time: Baldock 1-2 Dynamos

Baldock started strong in the second half, forcing an early corner after Baldwin blocked a cross. The corner was hit long and their player came in unmarked at the back post to head it home. 2-2.

A long range effort from Abu Khan went over but Baldock were have the majority of possession. On 55 minutes Baldock took the league.
Baldock attacked down the Dynamos left side and managed to tee up a chance for their right back and he drilled his shot low, into the corner of Jones net. 3-2 Baldock.

Lewis Workman was replaced by Curtis Brown on the hour mark.
Dynamos now had to show character and try and get something from the game. On 70 minutes Abu picked up a ball down the line from Rosner and beat 3 players as he jinxed his way into the box, winning a corner. The corner was well cleared.

Attwell played a ball out of defence onto the head of Abu, but he was pushed in the back, winning a free kick. Attwell floated the ball in, Griffiths headed back across goal and it was deflected into the path of Dave Brown. He controlled his volley superbly, hitting his shot on target, and past the keeper. Dynamos were level !! 3-3.

Baldock had a chance for the winner with 10 minutes remaining but Charlie Jones tipping the ball clear in an excellent save for a corner. Dave Brown was on the front post and headed the corner away.
Atwell picked up a loose pass and played into Rio’s feet. He swivelled and found Curtis Brown on the right wing and he scampered forward but was fouled near the box. The referee waived play on as the ball was with Lambeth and his shot was well saved, but straight into the path of Abu Khan who happily smashed it past the keeper…wow…what a game. 3-4 Dynamos.

There were 7 minutes remaining, but a Yellow Card for Rosner and Antonio Ianelli coming on for Evans Lamboh was the only thing worth noting as Dynamos held out for an away win and doing the double over Baldock.

Final score: Baldock Town 3-4 AVDFC
