Ardley United 3-1 AVDFC

After 3 postponed games, Dynamos were finally back in action with our first match in 2023. Ardley would be a tough test coming off the back of a decent 3-3 draw at Leighton Town.

Within the first minute Rio Deall swung a ball into the feet of Baldwin who turned and hit his shot which the keeper managed to tip round the post.
On the left side, Dyer and Lamboh were combining well and a decent cross from Dyer was inches too high for Lambeth.
On the quarter hour mark a long range effort from Curtis went wide of the mark as Dynamos were having the lions share of possession. Dyer was the creator again on 21 minutes with a diagonal ball into the path of Curtis who had his shot blocked for a corner.
Ardley did have the ball in the net first but their striker was offside.
Charlie Jones was called into action for the first time on 28 minutes after a rare foray forward from Ardley, and moments later Jones tipped a decent effort away as Ardley started getting on the ball more.
39 minutes and Jet Dyer was adjudged to have fouled in the box, no complaints from the Dynamos players and Ardley converted the penalty. 1-0 Ardley.
As the match went into first half injury time, Dyer passed out wide to Lamboh and he played it back to Dyer. He went on a run into the box, beat a couple of players and hit his shot over the keeper and into the far corner for his first ever senior goal for the club. 1-1.

Ardley certainly came out the stronger and some decent defending from Max Rosner kept the score level. 53 minutes in and Rosner with another clearance, this time over his own bar…close call.
The pressure told and a minute later Ardley were in front from the resulting corner with a close range finish. 2-1 Ardley

57 minutes and Rio Deall chipped a nice cross but Baldwin headed wide of the mark.
Double substitution on 59 minutes with Jake Baldwin and Evans Lamboh making way for Lewis Workman and the returning Abu Khan.
Abu was straight into action as he chipped a ball to the back post where Curtis headed it back, but no Dynamos player could get on the end of it.

The killer blow came on 64 minutes when a ball over the top was not dealt with and Ardley crossed and finished with a side footed effort in the bottom corner. 3-1 Ardley.
Almost immediately Dynamos had a great chance as Lambeth played Abu through on goal but his shot was saved by the outstretched leg of the keeper.
Within a couple of minutes Ianelli played in Lambeth but his shot was again saved by the keeper and bobbled up into his hands.

With 66 minutes on the clock Princewill Madu came on for his debut in the first team, replacing Antonio Ianelli as Dynamos went to 3 at the back.
75 minutes in and Jet Dyer was replaced by Sadibo Camara to add to the attacking options.
Both teams had chances in the final minutes but neither team could find another goal.

Final drama when an Ardley player raised his hands against Attwell and got a straight red card.
