Baldwin Brace sinks Hoddesdon !!

AVDFC 4-0 Hoddesdon Town

Team: Archie Davis; Jack Empson, Jet Dyer, Charlie Attwell, Terry Griffiths; Antonio Ianelli, Jacob Williamson, Curtis Brown, Rio Deall, Evans Lamboh; Jake Baldwin

Subs: Fabian Garcia, Max Rosner, Sadibo Camara, Kris Collier, Charlie Jackson

After the emphatic victory at London Colney, Dynamos faced another team towards the bottom end of the table in Hoddesdon. After going 2-0 up at their place and losing 4-3, Dynamos needed to avenge that disappointing defeat.
Lambeth was unavailable, so Baldwin went up front. Empson coming into the starting line-up with Rosner on the bench…also two U18’s stars also on the bench in Sadibo Camara and Kris Collier.

The first 10 minutes went past without much goalmouth action. Only a decent cross from Lamboh which was just too far for Deall worth noting.
Dynamos started to control the ball better and a ball out from Empson was collected by Deall and he hit a cross, finding Curtis Brown in space. He got his shot away which beat the keeper, but cleared off the line.
A few minutes later and the pressure paid off. Williamson hit a defence splitting ball through to Curtis Brown who raced into the box and squared the ball to Baldwin. He tapped it into the empty net to put Dynamos 1-0 up. Great goal.

Two minutes later and it could have been 2 goals. The Hoddesdon keeper only managed to clear to Deall who headed back at goal where Baldwin was waiting. The keeper came out and Baldwin lobbed him but wide of the mark.
However, Dynamos didn’t need to wait too long as Hoddesdon decided to make their task even more difficult. Their defender, trying to play across the back line, managed to mis-kick the ball straight past the keeper and into the goal. Most bizarre OG seen for a while. 2-0 Dynamos.

Deall was again the provider as Dynamos looked to increase their lead further. A great through ball this time finding the speedy Curtis Brown, but his shot was inches wide of the target.
Half an hour played and some excellent defending by Dyer saw him move forward down the left wing and cut inside to find Williamson. He jinxed his way past two defenders and pass to Baldwin’s feet…he turned and smashed the ball through the keepers legs and into the goal. 3-0 Dynamos.
35 minutes and the Hoddesdon keeper pulled off 3 saves in a row. Deall’s shot was saved, Baldwin and Dyer both had shots saved and the ball finally fell to Lamboh who hit his shot just over.
Just before half time Dyer had time to float a pinpoint cross into Baldwin who slid in, but his shot went just wide as Dynamos finished the half strong.
As the whistle was about to go, Dynamos created another chance. Dyer and Deall worked the ball free on the left and Deall’s cross found Curtis Brown at the back stick. He fired his shot in and rattled the post, the ball going off for a goal-kick.

Half time: Dynamos 3-0 Hoddesdon (Could have been 6)

Archie Davis, who had been a spectator for the first half was called into action after a few minutes of the second half as Hoddesdon looked to get involved in the match. It was 54 minutes before Hoddesdon had their first shot on target, which Davis saved well.
56 minutes and Fabian Garcia was introduced, replacing the impressive Evans Lamboh.
Five minutes later and Hoddesdon were still pushing forward. Another shot came in which Davis pushed round the post. Attwell clearing the corner with a thumping header away.
66 minutes and Jack Empson was replaced by Max Rosner.

The match then had a bizarre spell lasting a few minutes where 4 x Red cards were shown. Firstly the Hoddesdon No.6 pushed Rio Deall over with some force…Yellow…! The Hoddesdon No.2 decided to throw a few punches at various Dynamos players – Red Card. The Hoddesdon Manager and Will Dodds came onto the pitch to break it up and move players away…referee deciding 2 x Red cards were needed for them. Finally Jack Empson, who had been subbed off, ran onto the pitch and got himself a red card as well…for violent conduct…will need Veo on that one…!

Anyway, after that settled down, Dynamos were in control. Curtis Brown won a corner and Williamson hit another decent dead ball onto the head of Baldwin…was this his hat-trick…the ball was heading into the back of the net, Baldwin was celebrating…Captain Terry Griffiths thought better and steamed in to smash it home a foot from the line…!! GOAL…Griffiths getting his 6th of the season !! 4-0 Dynamos.
Jordan King put on Sadibo Camara and Kris Collier for the final 10 minutes, replacing Curtis Brown and Rio Deall.

In the 86th minute it was almost 5…! Max Rosner intercepted a ball across field and raced into the middle, releasing Sadibo on the right wing, his cross was inches away from Baldwin.

Final Score: Dynamos 4-0 Hoddesdon Town
