Solid performance...Lambeth is back !!!

London Colney 1-4 AVDFC

Team: Archie Davis; Jake Baldwin, Max Rosner, Charlie Attwell, Terry Griffiths; Antonio Ianelli, Jacob Williamson, Curtis Brown, Rio Deall, Fabian Garcia; Dan Lambeth

Subs: Jack Empson, Sam Wood, Charlie Jackson, Jet Dyer, Evans Lamboh

After the great result at Leverstock on Saturday, there was an air of expectation amongst the Dynamos fans as they travelled to London Colney on a wet and miserable Tuesday night.
Dave Brown unavailable through injury, meant a slight shuffle. Max Rosner started and so did Fabian Garcia.

Jacob Williamson was the first to get an shot away as he collected Max Rosner’s ball but his shot went wide.
Less than 10 minutes gone and Dynamos got another chance. Curtis Brown closed down their player, won the ball and hit a lovely cross which just didn’t sit up for Williamson as he was about to shoot.
London Colney then sprung into life forcing two fantastic saves from Archie. First with his fists, punching away, and then the rebound, tipping it over the bar for a corner. Attwell lept the highest to clear the corner.

12 minutes and Dynamos thought they had the lead…! Griffiths played a ball into Lambeth who swivelled and played a lovely through ball to Curtis Brown who easily outpaced the defence, beat the keeper and dinked it towards the open goal…hit the bar…and cleared. So unlucky.
It wasn’t long before Dynamos created another chance. Ianelli played a lovely ball out wide where Curtis Brown was and he skipped past a challenge and fizzed in a decent cross where Fabian Garcia had lost his marker and slotted the ball home. Great goal. London Colney 0-1 AVDFC.

With barely enough time to Tweet the goal…Dynamos were 2-0 up. Williamson played a ball into Lambeth’s feet and he played another lovely through ball to Curtis Brown. This time he would not miss and he sidestepped the keeper and calmly rolled the ball into the net. London Colney 0-2 AVDFC.
Less than half an hour…and it was 3…oh no it wasn’t. Rio Deall was provider this time as Dynamos carved the defence open again, this time Lambeth raced clear and beat the keeper, only to be called offside (probably was..!).

Ten minutes until the break and Garcia managed to win a corner. Williamson crossed the ball and Griffiths made contact at the near post, but wide of the goal.
Moments later Ianelli won a tackle in the centre of the pitch, got up and played an inch perfect pass to Lambeth….surely this was his time to score…no…the keeper made a save at his second attempt.
London Colney did manage another effort before half time but Archie was equal to it, with a decent save.

Half time: London Colney 0-2 AVDFC

In the first minute of the second half, Rio Deall won a free kick 35 yards out. Williamson floated a ball into the box and Baldwin, on his 90th 1st team appearance, flicked the ball on, past the keeper and into the goal. London Colney 0-3 AVDFC. Game over (hopefully).

Jordan and James decided to make a couple of changes on 57 minutes. Williamson and Garcia came off and Sam Wood and Evans Lamboh (on for his debut) came on.
Sam Wood was straight in the action on the left flank and he skilfully beat his man and found Lambeth with space, he controlled the ball and hit his shot over the keeper…and over the bar.

London Colney decided to ruin the fun a little by getting through and scoring a goal past Archie making it London Colney 1-3 AVDFC.
They then had a period of 10 minutes where they took control of the game forcing Archie into a couple of saves and also Attwell and Griffiths needed to be on their game to clear their lines.

Dynamos put the game beyond doubt on 70 minutes as Max Rosner raced out of defence and curled his pass round the last defender and into Lambeth…was this his moment…YES IT WAS, he beat the keeper with ease and slotted it home. London Colney 1-4 AVDFC.
Max Rosner and Curtis Brown were then replaced by Jack Empson and Charlie Jackson.
Baldwin has clearly got the taste for goal at the moment and he exchanged a 1-2 with Lamboh and hit a rasping effort which the keeper held onto.
That was his last action as 76 minutes in he was subbed off in the final change for U18’s player, Jet Dyer.

82 minutes and Lamboh and Jackson worked the ball clear for Jackson to send in a cross which Lambeth controls but the defender got a toe in at the vital moment.
A few minutes later Jet Dyer had time on the ball and moved forward with purpose, beating 2 challenges and sending in a cross which made it through to Jackson but his shot was blocked.

Almost on 90 minutes it should have been 5 as Lamboh, looking quality on his debut, sent a ball through to Sam Wood who beat his man, beat the keeper…but hit the post and went wide.
There was still time for Rio Deall to dance his way past 4 challenges and send Lambeth through, the keeper took him out and got a yellow card, but the free kick came to nothing.

Final score: London Colney 1-4 AVDFC
