After the last minute equaliser from Tring on Saturday, the lads had to pick themselves up and go again at mid-table Harpenden.
Harpenden started the brighter and an early corner was punched clear by Studley. At the other end, some good play from McKenzie saw him get a pass to Baldwin and his shot went inches wide.
12 minutes in and Harpenden should have taken the lead. Studley raced out to clear the ball but the attacker got there first but as he looked to shoot into the open goal, he managed to smash it straight at the retreating Studley and Deall cleared the ball.
Fabian, operating at left back, then went on a great run taking on 4 of their players and his pass to Baldwin was just too long.
Baldwin and Boorn were causing Harpenden issues and some great interchanges between them saw the latter hit a lovely cross which just eluded Abu at the back post.
20 minutes and the closest chance so far…Boorn picked up a pass out from Ianelli and he fizzed a ball across goal. Dave Brown was on the far side and recycled the ball, creating room and hitting a lovely curling effort which was superbly saved by the keeper.
25 minutes and Dynamos pressure finally paid off. Abu was having some joy on the right and again his movement created space for Boorn and he whipped in a lovely cross where Baldwin was free to head past the keeper. Great goal. 0-1 Dynamos.
Harpenden then have a half chance but great defending from Ianelli blocks the initial shot and Hodgins clears the ball upfield.
37 minutes and Dynamos got another goal. Abu won the corner after some more good work. Boorn swung the corner in and Baldwin was inches away from connecting. The ball fell into the path of Hodgins who slammed home his 4th goal of the campaign to double Dynamos lead. 0-2 Dynamos.
Half time: Harpenden 0-2 Dynamos
In the first few minutes of the second half it was clear Harpenden would throw everything at Dynamos. Hodgins reacted by throwing himself into the path of a rocket of a shot, winding him in the process.
A few minutes later Rio Deall managed to make a crucial goal line clearance as Harpenden piled on the pressure.
61 minutes and another decent effort saw Studley make a great save low to his left, tipping the ball behind for a corner. Max Rosner rose the highest and firmly headed the ball away as Dynamos defence held strong.
With 20 minutes to go, Dynamos could have scored a decisive 3rd goal as a ball into the middle from Brownie fell kindly to Abu. He took a touch and rifled in a shot which the keeper somehow clawed away.
The final 10 minutes were somewhat scrappy. Fabian, Rio and Antonio all receiving Yellow Cards and Loakes, Wood, Lawford and Prosper all coming on for cameo appearances as Dynamos ran down the clock.
Studley was forced into another decent save as the final whistle arrived. Great result and much needed league win.
