This was the real six pointer if ever there was one. At the start of the game Bedworth were two points ahead of the Moles and had played a game more and with only a handful of games left it's really six teams challenging for the four play off positions.
Aylesbury had Conner Baker and Adam Logie both available again although Ben Stevens was unavailable, Logie partnered Kyle Anthony at the back and Jeanmal Prosper reverted to his normal right back position. On paper this should have been a difficult encounter against a team pushing for promotion but at the end of ninety minutes most supporters couldn't remember a Bedworth shot on target.
With a strong wind at their back Aylesbury started brightly and an early move saw Aston Goss on the left hand side cut a ball across which was chested down by Haule and found Bradley Wadkins in the box but his first time volley went over the bar. In general though the first half was a cagey affair with both sides testing the other. Brian Haule was booked on 15 minutes for what seemed to be a leading elbow and the situation was made worse by almost the entire Bedworth team surrounding the referee.
The first real opportunity produced the opening goal, Aston Goss picked the ball up on the right hand side of the pitch cut inside a couple of players and fired in a shot with his left foot across Keeper Denham Hinds which nested into the corner of the net, 1-0. Nine minutes later and the lead was doubled. A low Danny Murphy corner was swung in, missed everyone and Brian Haule stooped down at the far post to knock in the ball from two yards and as the half drew to a close it seemed like the three points were wrapped up.
Half Time 2-0
With FC now in control the second half started as the first had finished with Aylesbury on the front foot but and incident after 59 minutes could have changed the game. Davis Haule jumped for a header over his brother Brian, sending both Brian and the Bedworth player to the ground. Free kick to Bedworth, but again all the players surrounded the referee insisting it was again Brian Haule who had elbowed the Greenback and calling for a red card. The referee, who didn't seem to have seen anything consulted his linesman and then showed the big Aylesbury forward a second yellow and sent him off. With the wind behind them and a man advantage it was now Bedworth in the ascendancy as they pumped long balls forward, looking for the equaliser but without ever really threatening the Ayesbury goal. On 75 minutes, Aylesbury wrapped the game up. A back pass from Bedworth was cut out by Bradley Wadkins who rounded the keeper and slotted home for 3-0 and the three points which takes Aylesbury back to second.
