Moles up to Fifth as they defeat Egham in a game that was all but over after 16 minutes

Aylesbury travelled to Egham desperate to get back to winning ways and keep their play off ambitions intact, after sixteen minutes they had a two goal lead which they never looked like surrendering, despite two second half penalties awarded within two minutes of each other and which were both saved by Man of the match James Weatherill.

FC started well and were soon a goal up. Connor Baker floated in a long left foot free kick which was nodded home by FC skipper Ben Stevens for a well deserved lead. Kyle Anthony then had a header from a free kick saved by the home keeper before Sonny French extended the lead from the resultant corner The ball was cleared but only found French who drove home from just outside the box.

Egham did start to make some inrodes into the game but although they had posession they weren't troubling Weatherill in the Aylesbury goal.

Egham came outfor the second half in a much more determined mood and were starting to turn their posession and pressure into chances, fifteen minutes in and the first of a number of strange decisions as a ball through to Egham striker Stanislaus saw Ben Stevens pull the strikerdown and the Egham faithful calling for a red card but the referee saw fit just to give out a caution. From the resultant free kick Skipper Stevens appeared to pull down an Egham striker and a penalty was awarded but strangely no other action was taken. Stanislaus stepped up but Weatherill pushed the spot kick around the post. Almost immediately another Penalty was awarded when the the same man was again adjudged to be pulled down by The Moles skipper, FC fans feared the worst but again no action was taken although the Penalty was again awarded. Stanislaus again stepped up and again the magnificent Weatherill was equal to the task and again saved.

The game was now quite fractious with both sets of supporters and players becoming embroiled in conversation and argument but Aylesbury saw the game out, move up to fifth and look forward to a home game on Tuesday when Northwood are the visitors.
