The day didn't start well due to heavy traffic on the way to Wey Court meant that Ben Stevens arrived just minutes before the start of the game and was still doing his warm up as the teams came out on the pitch, worse still Davis Haule, also delayed did not arrive until half time. So it was no surprise that the first half was a pretty drab affair and not a great advert for "Non-League Day" , the only real incidents of note being James Weatherill making an excellent save from a header across goal and Brian Haule putting in Brad Wadkins, only for the FC midfielder to put his shot wide of the goal.
But this was the architipel game of two halves and the second half was a completely different affair with FC dominating and that early pressure soon told when after just 4 minutes a Daniel Murphy free kick was headed home from Ben Stevens. 6 minutes later and it was 2-0, there was confusion in the Godalming area and Brian Haule scrambled home the loose ball from close range. Now it was all FC as they looked to ram home their advantage and on 59 minutes Sonny French found himself one on one with the keeper and lobbed the ball into an empty net from 18 yards for the best goal of the game and an unassailabe lead. Godalming huffed and puffed and scored a consolation goal after 77 minutes but there was no way back and Aylesbury took the 3 points back to Haywood Way and moved to 8th in the League.
