Dynamos were back in FA Vase action this afternoon against MK Irish from the United Counties League. Since the formation of Aylesbury Vale Dynamos, we had never lost a match against MK Irish, winning all 3 previous encounters.

In the early encounters, it was MK Irish who looked more threatening, missing an early opportunity to take the lead as their striker ballooned a decent chance over.
At the other end Ollie and Abu both had half chances but they couldn’t hit the target.
In the 19th minutes Rio Deall was fouled and Josh Boorn stepped up to take the free kick. He chipped it over the back line but their defender got the faintest of touches to take it away from Terry.
Brownie also then had a half chance as he beat his man and curled an effort over the bar.

Arguably the best chance of the first half came for Dynamos. Rio Deall won a corner which Jake Baldwin swung in onto the head of Jack Hodgins who headed on target, but the keeper palmed it over.
On the half hour mark, MK Irish were building the pressure and a decent ball across the face of Zammit’s goal was not converted. Lucky escape.
Tom Kennard, who was having a decent game in the middle, breaking up play well, squeezed a ball to Abu. He and Josh managed some neat play to free Abu in on goal but an MK Irish defender bundled the ball and Abu out of the way to some Dynamos penalty claims…nothing given.

Before half time Rio managed to go into the book for a very soft shirt pull (barely touched him ref) but referee was on point and carded him.
A last minute deflected shot from Ollie saw the first half end goalless.

Dynamos had an early chance within a couple of minutes of the start of the second half as Tom Kennard found Rio out wide and he raced clear, hitting a low cross which eluded everyone.
Captain, Terry, then pulled up with an injury and was unable to continue. Jack Aldridge came off the bench to take his place at the heart of the defence.

52 minutes and MK Irish played a ball through and their striker should have done better, however, Zammit was there to make a superb save.
Josh Boorn then went close with a decent effort, inches wide of the post as Dynamos started to look the stronger team.
Brownie then had another chance which went wide and from the kick off, Abu collected the ball and was wiped out by their No.6, who was yellow carded for his troubles.
A corner for Dynamos was taken by Boorn and Hodgins almost got on the end of it, but the defender fell to floor…free kick MK Irish and Hodgins booked!? Not sure what for.
69 minutes and Rio crossed the ball to Abu who tiptoes past his marker and hit a decent effort just over the bar. Dynamos were getting closer…
Ollie Lawford was then subbed off, with Sam Wood coming on the freshen things up. A few minutes later Abu went on a run and played a ball into Sam who mis-kicks his shot, only winning a corner. MK Irish cleared Baldwins cross.
The final substitution saw Rio Deall taken off and Fabian Garcia on for the final few minutes.

Zammit saved the first penalty, only to be told he encroached off his line…!!! Re-take….Zammit then saved the re-take !!! BOOM !!! Dynamos with the advantage…
