AVDFC 3-1 London Tigers

After the recent slump in league results, The Dynamos were up against a Division 1 team, London Tigers, in the FA Vase. In what many considered an easy first match in the Vase, could have been a potential banana skin for the hapless Dynamos. Within the first minute Tigers managed to squeeze a shot away which went wide of the target as they showed they were not there to make up numbers.

Jake Baldwin, playing as wing back, collected a ball out from Terry Griffiths and found Callum Shortt free on the edge of the box. His shot went over the bar. It was Callum Shortt again with an opportunity on 10 minutes as he collected a great ball from Paolo Bagatti, but his shot was saved by the keeper.

At the other end a decent tackle from Paolo Bagatti blocked a Tigers shot on target as they threatened Dynamos goal.
22 minutes and Callum Shortt is fouled 20 yards from goal. Montel Brown stepped up but hit the wall with the free kick.
A few minutes later Montel Brown wriggled free in the Tigers box and was taken down in what looked like a stonewall penalty…nothing given…very odd decision. The next 10 minutes saw Montel Brown in the thick of the action…a great ball from Alfi Touceda saw Montel called offside in a tight decision. Moments later a goalmouth scramble saw Montel also have a shot blocked as Dynamos looked for the opener.

Half time 0-0

The away side came out for the second half and had the best chance of the game. A through ball saw Dan McAteer make a superb save, but the ball fell to a Tigers player, 10 yards out with the goal at his mercy, but he ballooned his shot over the bar. Too close…! At the other end Davide Pobbe had a great shot which stung the hands of the keeper after some excellent work from Montel Brown. 56 minutes and Alfi Touceda wins the ball in the middle of the park but gets a boot to the face for his efforts. After treatment, he was up and ready to go again.

59 minutes and finally a breakthrough. Aylesbury were on the attack and Jake Baldwin got a shot away which was saved, the ball fell to Montel Brown whose shot was blocked. Finally it fell to Callum Shortt who rifled his shot past the keeper. 1-0 Dynamos…and a sense of relief around the ground. The home side were attacking well now and Dave Brown had a curling effort, tipped wide by the keeper.

71 minutes and The Dynamos thought they were 2-0 up. Montel Brown was played through by Alfi Touceda and battled well to win the ball, scoring past the keeper. Referee called a foul against Montel for some reason !?
Tigers then went straight down the other end and their cross was converted in a quick move that caught Dynamos off guard. 1-1 and all to play for.

75 minutes and Callum Shortt was subbed off, with Dan Boateng coming on. Within a minute The Dynamos lead was restored. Matty Chew won the ball and played the ball through to Dave Brown, he skipped a challenge and beat the keeper with a great shot. 2-1 Dynamos. Dave Brown was then subbed off with Gael Muyonge coming on. 10 minutes left and Ayesbury were attacking. Matty Chew went on a great run to the byline, cut the ball back but Montel Browns shot was well saved.

Luke Nugent was introduce with 5 minutes to go, replacing the energetic Matty Chew. In the last minute The Tigers lost the ball in the defence and Davide Pobbe pounced to win the ball and send his shot past the keeper to make it 3-1 Dynamos in the last action of the match.
