Without the unavailable Lewis Strafford and Jordan Jenkins, it was again a changed side that took to the field against unbeaten Bracknell Town in the County Cup. This was always going to be a tough match as Bracknell are in a rich vein of form but had FC put away their chances tonight as they did at Dunstable this could have been a very different story.

It was however the away side that had the first chance when Ferdinand shot across the FC goal and Nick Bennion parried the ball away to safety. Reece Bayliss and Ryan Ware were being very influential in midfield and Koh Williams, playing on the left was terrorising the Bracknell right back, time and time again the ball was played to Williams who ran at the full back, beating both on the left and the right. After thirteen minutes his tricky footwork caused trouble on the left wing and his low cross fell to Luke Cray on the edge of the box whose looping effort was sliced wide of the mark.

Two minutes later another superb cross field ball from Bayliss fell to the feet of Williams, he beat his man yet again, pulled the trigger and his goal bound effort was cleared off the line by Parsons and away for a corner, the resulting corner was met by a floated header from Derek Feyi at the back post was just over the bar.

Aylesbury opened the scoring on twenty three minutes when Bruno Brito's initial effort was blocked courageously by Day, but he maked no mistake the second time around - smashing home from 6 yards for a well deserved lead. Reece Bayliss then had an opportunity to double the lead when he looked to place a drive into the top corner top corner from distance, but the keeper was equal to it, punched it away into the path of Brito who volleyed over the crossbar.

Bracknell did have their chances a nd a strike midway through the half curled over Bennion's bar and away to safety but it was the home side looking more like scoring, Josh Williams got to the bye line again put in a cross which ran across the six yard line but again no one was there to provide the vital touch. Bayliss then had another chance but his drive was dragged wide of the post

Within four minutes of the re start a resurgent Bracknell were level, A ball in from the right was met at the back post by Matthew Day who volleyed home into the top of the net. Aylesbury were still creating chances and on fifty four minutes Williams again wriggled free of his marker on the left flank, cut inside, found Ryan Ware on the edge of the Bracknell penalty area, but his skimming effort was claimed down low by Scott in the away goal.

On the hour it was Bracknell that took the lead when a shot from Grant was blocked initially by Luke Cray, but it dropped kindly to Gavin James who slotted home low to the bottom right hand corner. And that was that really, the FC heads really seemed to drop at that point and all the early promise ebbed away, two further goals from Day and Abubakar finished the tie but not before the best goal of the evening which fell to Aaron King. The big striker who had worked tirelessly all night and appeared frustrated at his lack of chances, found the ball at his feet just inside the Bracknell half and seeing the keeper off his line placed a pin point shot over the keepers head and into the back of the net.

The management team will be happy with the first half performance, although the missed chances eventually cost dear but will be less pleased with the apparent loss of performance levels after the second goal.
