With a number of injuries and holidays FC came to Daventry missing seven of the first team squad, so there was an opportunity for more game time for the everyone else. Four Individual errors in the first half saw FC go into the break four down, but after a half time discussion The Moles came out and as a group started to do the fundamentals correctly and a Ty Deacon penalty midway through the half was their reward in a positive second half performance and another good test ahead of the new season.

Commenting after the game Manager Scott Reynolds thanked Daventry for their hospitality, the game was played on an excellent pitch and it was a thorough test. He also explained that the errors made in the first half were discussed at the break and the management team was pleased with the attitude of the players in the second period. He further commented that they are aware that the team still needs strengthening in certain areas and there maybe some new introductions ahead of the last four pre season games.
