The The Moles will come away from this afternoon's FA Cup tie thinking about what could have been. A series of missed gilt edged chances

mean that the two sides will replay at Haywood Way this Tuesday 15th September at Haywood Way with a 7.45pm Kick Off.

After the Red Insure tie on Monday Manager Steve Bateman brought back Ben Stevens and James Dobson in defence, with Grant Fryer and David Lynn dropping to the bench. Brian Haule replaced young Ken Feyi at Centre Forward & playmaker Jamie Rudd also returned in place of Lamar Simpson.

It was Aylesbury that were quickest out of the blocks and dominated the first period with only the occasional flurry of activity from The Generals. James Dobson fired over with a free kick and then Ryan O'Toole had his free kick turned around the post by Chesham Keeper Shane Gore. Kyle Anthony went close with a header and Jamie Rudd also went close after some nice interplay.

With ten minutes to go before half time Rudd then had the best chance of the game, finding himself one on one with Gore, only a fine save by the keeper prevented The Moles taking what would have been a well deserved lead. Chesham's best opportunity followed shortly after when a free kick was cleared by the FC defence, it fell to Toby Little who put the ball back into the area, Dave Pearce volleyed the ball but James Weatherill saved smartly.

HT 0-0

Chesham had a little more of the play in the second half but it was still Aylesbury creating the clearest cut opportunities with Chesham stopper Gore the busiest of the two keepers. FC again should have taken the lead on 71 minutes when a corner found Jeanmal Propser in the box and his header was cleared off the line by Ashley Smith, then Aylesbury's man of the match Brian Haule chipped a ball in from the edge of the box which Gore tipped over the bar. Chesham though were not done and with just 10 minutes to go had probably their best chance, a free kick from Little found Stewart at the back post but he headed tamely wide.

Only time will tell if Aylesbury will rue the chances they had in this game BUT they have the opportunity to try to put the tie to bed when The Generals visit Haywood Way this Tuesday at 7.45pm.
