On another balmy evening a strong Aylesbury squad took to the field in Thame after their narrow defeat at home to the MK Dons at the weekend. The game saw the introduction of Daniel Gordon as Assistant Manager and the return of Sean Sonner.
On a hard pitch The Moles took their time to get out of first gear as the home side had the best of the early stages without ever troubling James Weatherill in the FC goal.
As the half wore on though FC quickened the pace and one moment of decisive interplay separated the teams at half time. Danny Burnell picked the ball up on the left of midfield and slid a slide rule pass through to Bradley Wadkins who finished in style.
Steve Bateman obviously had some stern words with the players at the break because their was much more urgency in the second half with FC dominating the play and it was another through ball from Burnell that this time found Gareth Price who curled the ball passed a despairing Thame keeper to double the lead. Then the changes happened with most players getting a run out and the game petered out. A good work out ahead of the game with Ampthill at the weekend.
