Aylesbury travelled to the Armadillo Stadium this afternoon to take on Calor Premier League outfit Arlesey Town who had in their ranks ex Moles Jeanmal Prosper and Luke Abraham.
With Brian Haule, Ollie Hogg and Matarr Touray injured and Stephen Lindsey, Julian Smith, Ben Stevens and Jerome Federico all away on holiday it should have been a much tougher afternoon but The Moles equited themselves very well in an excellent game.
FC had the better of the opening spell and Leon Osei shot wide after a good move involving Max Farrelly and Boss Craig Faulconbridge. Soon after and the same trio were again involved but this time Faulconbridge's through ball to Osei found the striker in the box and he poked the ball past the Arlesey keeper for a well deserved lead. It was a lead that FC took into the break and which they never really looked like losing.
Five minutes into the second half and this time nice interplay, this time down the left, involving Ronayne Marsh-Brown, Romaine Walker and Leon Osei eventually saw the ball fall to Marsh-Brown who shot just wide.
With just 20 minutes to go it didn't seem that Arlesey would get back into the game but with FC tiring two quick goals gave the home side the victory in a very interesting game that will go some way to helping the Management team in deciding what will be their starting line up on August 17th.
