Return to football sees another win

After another long break in matches and training the U13's returned with another win that pushed us up to 2nd in the table.
A cold and foggy morning at Haywood's with the other side of the pitch only just visible. The boys with their gloves on ready for their first match in six weeks.

Both teams had a bright start with good battles all over the pitch. Although possession looked fairly even, Dynamos had the better of the early chances. Following some quick passing moves through midfield and out to the wing it was looking likely we would take the lead. Shots from Levi, Fin, Harry and Rhys kept their keeper busy.
The opening goal came from some great play. Archie started the move from the back with a nice through ball for Josh to run onto. Josh skipped past the defender and crossed the ball to Fin. Fin elegantly stepped over it which left Harry with time to have a touch and slide the ball to the keepers left.
The pressure continued with a few more shots. Both George and Rhys had good runs from midfield and got good shots off but their keeper saved. Quick closing down from our front three led to a mistake between their keeper and centre back. Fin was presented with the ball and an open goal to tap into.
The third goal came from a nice move down the left with both Charlie's and Kyle moving the ball quickly down the wing. The ball was threaded through to Fin who went past one and was brought down by the another for a clear penalty. Josh picked up the ball, placed it on the spot and struck it high to the keepers right making it 3-0.
Shortly after this Rhys proved dominant in midfield driving through three tackles from the opposition. His determination led to a pass to Levi who struck the ball low and hard past the keeper.
Ruislip didn't threaten much in the first half. When they did Archie, Charlie, Kaiden or Harry were there to make the tackle. However, a lapse in concentration led to their striker going through 1 on 1 with Bobby. Bob did enough to push him wide but he still got a shot off from a tight angle. Archie came from no where to slide in an prevent the goal.

For the second half Ruislip were more with it. They were winning more battles in Midfield and their defence seemed to have stepped up the aggression on our front three. They had a few shots but nothing that really tested Bobby.
We were struggling to move the ball as well and it seemed we needed more touches to get things going. We also started to see a bit of panic in some areas of the pitch with the ball being released too quickly.
Ruislip managed to pull one back. Failure to clear the ball properly led to one of their players having time to pick a spot and put the ball in the net to Bob's right.
A few moments later we managed to get a good move going which led to a goal from Levi. Unfortunately, their linesman deemed someone else offside in the build up so it was disallowed.
The rest of the match was a bit messy with few chances at either end. We had a few late chances with a good header from George off the back of a corner and a free kick from Josh tipped over the bar.

A good win after a long break and some solid performances within the team.

Goals from Harry, Fin, Josh and and a Levi.

Merry men of the match were Archie who put in another Captains performance and and Josh who had his best game of the season.
