Akmel's 7-minute hat-trick helps secure great League Cup Victory !

Marlow Youth 1-5 AVDFC U18’s

Team: Khori Wilkins; Matty Holland, Dorian Howell-Blagogee, Luca Van Danzig, Conor Willcocks, Gabriel Marks, Noah Brownbridge; Dylan Eatwell, Jonny Buckthorpe, George Whall, Ryan Western, Alfie Garrad, Aiden Rennie, Akmel Diaby; Kyle Lawrence

We were finally back in action against Marlow Youth in the League Cup 2nd Round at Booker in High Wycombe.
With a few slow starts recently, we wanted a quick start from the boys and they duly delivered.
A good run from Kyle saw him cross the ball to the back post where Aiden and George were lurking…and George got the final touch to score. 0-1 Dynamos.

A long kick from Khori than made its way through to Kyle who had his shot blocked for a corner. Dylan swung it in and Luca was close to connecting.
Luca was involved on 10 minutes where he was crunched in the centre with a late tackle which looked to injure his achilles and he was off (permanently) with Gabriel coming into defence.

Quarter of an hour played and despite having the majority of the ball, Marlow looked like they could break well and they had a decent effort go past Khori’s post as they pushed forward.
Dynamos were producing decent football and almost made it 2 when Gabriel won a tackle and played into Jonny’s feet, he spun and released Kyle through on goal, but he took it wide and his shot was saved.

With less than half an hour played, Ryan, who was having great success on the right skipped past a challenge and swung in a great cross where Alfie rose with the keeper and managed to head it home. An element of luck…but a goal nevertheless. 2-0 Dynamos.

Ryan was having a decent game keeping wide on the right and Conor and Dylan both played balls out wide for him to race agains their left back and get a corner and a throw in.
On the other wing, Aiden was also holding the ball up well and combining with Dorian and then Noah well.
40 minutes and a rare Marlow attack was brought to a halt when Alfie lept into a challenge and got a yellow card for wiping the player out.

Half time: Marlow Youth 0-2 AVDFC

Kyle won a free kick early in the second half and Dylan hit a decent free kick which Akmel headed towards goal but easily saved.
53 minutes and Kyle again causing Marlow problems with quick feet and he played it to George who had a shot blocked and it fell to Alfie who hit a quick shot wide of the mark.

Over an hour into the match and the next goal would be important…and Dynamos got it. A corner was taken short between Dylan and Kyle and a cross fell to Noah who had a shot blocked but Akmel was on hand…in (what Damo and I thought was offside) front of goal and beat the keeper with ease…no flag…Goal !!! 0-3 Dynamos.
Akmel was full of skil and running and caused Marlow problems to defend against him.
A couple of minutes later Dorian found Kyle in the centre and he played a great ball through to Akmel who won a corner. Marlow cleared.
The ball was kept alive which Kyle and Dylan getting the ball out wide to Aiden. He beat his man and raced into the box and cutting the ball back to Akmel who grabbed his second and Dynamos 4th goal. 0-4 Dynamos.

Dynamos were passing well and their 5th goal came from some slick passing in the middle. Matty won a header and Jonny outmuscled his marker and found Alfie in the middle with some room to pick a reverse pass into the path of Akmel. He happily raced clear and beat the keeper to get a 7-minute hat-trick. Brilliant!!! 0-5 Dynamos.

As Dynamos eased off, Marlow got some possession in the final 10 minutes and on 80 minutes, they broke through and beat Khori to get a consolation goal. 1-5 Dynamos.

In the dying moments, Aiden won a free kick on the half way line and Khori came out to have shot….I mean deliver the ball into the box. He went long…very long…and the opposition keeper made a great save tipping the ball round the post to deny Khori a goal…!? Hmmm…!

Final score: Marlow Youth 1-5 AVDFC U18’s

What a great performance and I probably should mention every player had a good game. Luca, Conor & Dorian were solid at the back and rarely threatened. Thoughts go to Luca…hope the injury is not too serious…! Alfie and George did a great job in the middle and up front when required. Khori almost got a clean sheet and was commanding in his box. Kyle was his usual self and Marlow couldn’t handle his pace and ability. Aiden had another great game, holding it up well and looked great going forward. Gabriel and Noah had good games when called upon. Noah looking settled in the squad and a great addition. Dylan and Jonny ran the midfield well and, with some time on the ball, picked some great passes out and ran all match. Ryan was running amok on the right, getting crosses in, beating his marker and looking sharp. Akmel scored a 7-miute hat-trick which was very impressive. Final mention to Matty who was superb at right back and then covering Luca after just 10 minutes as centre back…superb! Well done all !!!
