Shiplake Allstars 5-7 AVDFC U18’s

Team: Kian McMillan; Dorian Howell-Blagogee, Matt Holland, Conor Willcocks, Luca Van Danzig; Gabriel Marks, Dylan Eatwell, Jonny Buckthorpe, Alfie Garrad, Akmel Diaby, Aiden Rennie, Ryan Western; Ed Scott

Arriving at a very picturesque Hambleden Village, we didn’t know anything about this team as they had conceded their first 2 games with lack of players. We had two drop out on the eve of the match and a no show…and a late show…meaning we started with 12 players.
Dorian was back from injury and straight into the starting team and Aiden has moved across to our team from U17’s Dynamos team.

Jonny and Dylan has early chances for Dynamos as we started well…which makes a change. Dorian played a long ball through to Akmel who managed to control but his shot went wide.
6 minutes and another chance, Dylan’s corner was headed on target by Akmel but cleared and the ball fell to Conor who hit a decent shot on target, but was well saved by the keeper.

A long throw from Matt was headed on by Jonny and through to Ed who raced clear but his shot was wide.
15 minutes and the pressure finally told. Dorian tackled well and played the ball into Alfie and he beat his man and played in Jonny who steadied himself and beat the keeper with a great effort. 1-0 Dynamos.

Within a couple of minutes Dynamos were 2-0 up. Akmel involved on the left wing passing through to Ed and he squared to Jonny who beat the keeper and in of the far post. 2-0 Dynamos.

20 minutes saw Dynamos string some nice passes together. Alfie winning the ball, passing to Jonny, he sprayed it out wide to Ryan who beat his man and crossed to Akmel…but he was judged offside.
At the other end Shiplake had a half chance, but Conor made a cynical tackle and avoided a yellow card somehow. Their free kick was saved by Kian.

A loss of concentration at the back gifted Shiplake a way back into the match and they took their chance well. 2-1 Dynamos.
Jonny was pulling the strings in the centre an he played a lovely through ball to Aiden who got a decent shot away but well saved.
34 minutes in and Dynamos scored again. Dylan receiving a ball out from Conor and finding Jonny in space, he had a shot which was blocked but the ball fell to Akmel who beat the keeper. 3-1 Dynamos.

5 minutes before half time and it was 4. Ed brought down a ball out from Matt and played it out to Ryan and he squeezed the ball through to Aiden who was through and he beat the keeper and scored his first goal for us. 4-1 Dynamos.
43 minutes and Shiplake were back in it…Kian raced out of goal but their player beat him to it and managed to hit a shot over Kian and into the unguarded net. 4-2 Dynamos.
Just before half time and Dynamos were at it again. A cross from Dylan eluded the defence and ended up with Aiden who happily slotted it home for his 2nd and Dynamos 5th. 5-2 Dynamos.

Half Time: Shiplake 2-5 Dynamos.

Dynamos started the second half stronger and an early chance for Jonny was created by Dylan playing the ball out to Aiden and his cross found Jonny who hit it over the bar.

51 minutes and Dylan hit a corner which fell to Jonny and he had a shot…which he barely connected with….but the ball fell to Luca who hit a sweet shot into the corner and in….6-2 Dynamos.
Two minutes later and Alfie was fouled in the middle. Dylan hit the free kick in to Conor who controlled and hit a decent effort which was blocked and the ball fell to Akmel who beat the keeper with a decent effort. 7-2 Dynamos.
Just before the hour mark, it should have been 8. Matt played in Ryan and he crossed to Akmel who was 5 yards out with an open goal…but ballooned it over…!

Game over we all thought…easy we all thought…they have given up we all thought….

61 minutes…Shiplake score with a long ball over the top which wasn’t dealt with. 7-3 Dynamos.
65 minutes…Luca adjudged to have fouled in the box, penalty….scored…7-4 Dynamos.

Shiplake were having the majority of the ball and another foul from Conor was judged one too many and received a yellow card.

71 minutes Shiplake were now on top and Dynamos were panicking…for some reason…Shiplake went through again, this time Matt was on hand to tackle their forward.
A few minutes later and Dylan was over a free kick and hit a decent effort just over the bar.
Shiplake were still looking for another and Kian made a decent save with 10 minutes left as Dynamos looked shaky.

83 minutes…Shiplake had a corner which was curled into the box, over Kian and straight into the goal. 7-5 Dynamos.
A few minutes later the last half chance fell to Ryan who hit the crossbar and the ball fell to Akmel who hit his shot wide.

Final Score: Shiplake 5-7 Dynamos.

Wow…ok, so another 12 goal match, this time winning and taking the 3 points. However, we need to control the match better, not do too much with the ball and pass better.
Anyway, on a positive note great to see Dorian back and had a decent match. Ryan was creating problems on the wings and put some decent crosses in. Akmel looked dangerous in possession and grabbed a couple of goals. What a great debut from Aiden, great feet and also grabbing 2 goals, superb performance. Final comment from me goes to Jonny who controlled the midfield, good vision and managed to score 2 goals himself. Well done all !!!
