Youth Update - The season so far...

Iain Willcocks

Great to see the Youth teams getting some great results already this season

Youth Football Update

The new season has been in full flow for a few weeks now and our Youth teams have been in action home and away during the lovely sunny weather. Pitches were poor at the start, but with some hard work from some coaches they are looking good, and now we want some rain…!

The U18 Floodlit team have already completed 6 games this season. 3 of them in the FA Youth Cup where they defeated Kidlington and Risborough Rangers in the first two games scoring 11 goals and were unlucky to lose out 3-2 to Wokingham.
They defeated Risborough Rangers again in the B&B Midweek Cup with a 6-1 win as Leo Manolov grabbed a brace.
In the League they are unbeaten in their first 2 matches making it a very successful start to their campaign. Goals have been scored from various players with Mason Leech on 6, Leo Manolov & Harry Granville on 4 each, Charlie Cox 3 and Charlie Purton on 2 so far.

The U17 Youth have only had 2 x League games so far losing them both as the bed in a new team for the season. They have a tough cup match this weekend against Ickenham Tigers.

Erskine’s U16 Dynamos have had a mixed set of results so far. A 1-1 draw in the first week with Holyport, Max grabbing the equaliser. They then lost in the B&B Cup having to travel to Northampton to face a decent team, Red Eagle Bombers, losing out 4-0. Last week they then travelled to Beaconsfield and came away with a crunching 7-2 win. A much improved team performance with Dante Haule grabbing an impressive 4 goals, supported by Alfie (2) and Max.
The Youth team have lost their first 3 League games by a very close margin each time. At Chalfont they looked like getting a draw but 2 late goals saw Chalfont win 4-2. Playing Totteridge at home they also sat at 2-2 with Josh and Dylan scoring, but a late deflected goal meaning a very unlucky 3-2 loss. Last weekend Singh Sabha won 3-1, but again at 1-0 up, just some more discipline and I am sure they will win. Saying that, they did also play a cup match in the middle, winning 10-3 with Josh getting 4 goals, ably supported by George (2), Archie, Harvey, Fin and Nasiah.
The U16 Colts have only had 2 matches so far, a close loss in the League in week 1 and a cup match they will want to forget a couple of weeks ago. With a lack of subs due to injuries, we hope to see better results coming soon.
The U16 Girls are currently unbeaten this season after a superb start to their campaign. They started with a good 3-1 win away at St Edmunds and then a 4-2 win against a good Thame team, Thea and Isabelle amongst the goals. Last week they drew 1-1 with Kidlington and Emily got the important goal.

Richard Evans U15 Youth are 3 wins from 3 at the moment. A solid 3-0 Cup victory over Penn & Tylers to start. They then played Bracknell Hibs at home and despatched them 6-1 with a MoM performance from Sami. Last week they sneaked a 4-3 win with a “tired” performance…still, a win is a win…and they sit top of the table.
The U15 Athletic team have had 4 very close matches. A good 1-0 win in the first match with Zack, their new keeper, playing his first 11-a-side competitive match and doing very well. They lost out in the Cup 2-1 after Ethan grabbed a deserved equaliser but ultimately lost out. They lost 3-1 to Maidenhead last week but still improving and a MoM performance from the improving Youssef a particular highlight.

Paul Knowlers U14 Dynamos have only had one game so far with 2 x postponements already. They lost their League game 7-1 but hopefully will get their season underway this week.
The U14 Youth have had a difficult start to the season with 3 losses so far.
The U14 Colts on the other hand have had an unbeaten start to the season. Winning 2 cup games 6-1 against Taplow and 8-0 against Tring. This coupled with a 3-0 over Thame and a 4-0 win over Cippenham in the League, makes the perfect start. They have scored 22 goals and conceded 1. Jimmy (5) and Max (4) top the scoring charts. Dorin, Noah and Pareis all grabbing a couple of goals too.

New Manager, Hussein Habib took over the mantle in the U13 Dynamos team this season and have had an interesting start to the season. They went 5-2 down in a cup match only to come back and take it to penalties at 5-5. They lost out on the dreaded spot kicks…then the week after…at 1-1 Ziaan grabbed a superb 6-minute hat-trick to put them 4-1 up, only to get pegged back to 4-4 and penalties again…and unfortunately lost again. How unlucky but 2 great matches. Their league campaign got underway with a great 4-0 win, this time Majid getting a hat-trick and last week they made it 2 from 2 beating HYC Hawks 9-2 with Ziaan getting another hat-trick. Majid (2), Harvey (2), Noah and Teddy on target as well.
Naveens U13 Youth team have been unlucky not to win yet with 2 very close games and a cup defeat so far. Their match last week was postponed, meaning they are still searching for their first win.

The U12 Dynamos have Won 1 and Lost 1 in their first couple of matches. A 3-1 win to start with Will, Sully and Toby getting the goals. The week after they went 3-0 down in the second half but 2 goals from Jake got them back in it, but they could grab the equaliser going down 3-2.
The U12 Youth have had 2 draws in their first 2 matches as they fought out draws with Taplow (1-1 Leander scoring) and Holmer Green (2-2 Leader/Jack scoring). Last week they suffered their first defeat to Penn & Tylers Green going down 5-3.
Dan Bryants U12 Colts got their first point of the season last week with a hard fought 2-2 draw with Townmead. Alex and Harris finding the net. Prior to this they had two close losses at the beginning of the season.
The U12 girls, ran by Hayley Thomas have had a mixed bag of results. Played 3 and won 1, drew 1 and lost 1. They started with a 1-1 draw with Flitwick, Ella scoring the vital penalty. They then lost 3-2 in a close match with Dunstable FC. Florence and Ella scoring but they couldn’t grab an equaliser. Finally they got a deserved win last week winning 3-1 against Buckingham. Florence with 2 goals and a debut goal for Lailaa.

The U11 Dynamos have won 10 and lost 6 in their first few weeks this season. They have a few new players to bed in, but some great wins already under their belt, including a great set of results against local rivals, Aylesbury United.
The U11 Colts got underway with three wins in their first matches as well, hope to hear more about their results soon.

Ben Stevens U9 Athletic team are playing up a year this season in the top division of the U10’s. This will be a great test for them. They have won 5, drawn 2, lost 9 so far this season which is a fantastic start for them. They had some good results against Risborough Rangers and Tring in recent weeks. Look forward to seeing how they fair in the top division an age up.

Our U9 age group has 3 teams in and Woody has kept us up to speed with how they are doing. The U9 Youth have had some good success so far in the season. They have won 6 and drawn 5 in a positive start. The U9 Colts are a new team and have not won a game yet, but they are still learning and will win soon. Also new are the U9 Blue team who have been amazing so far, winning 11 of their first 16 matches.

The second season for our U8’s with Dan Costello at the helm and they have had a good start and we wait to see how their season develops.

Finally, Steve Martin is heading up the U7 and youngest age group as they take their first steps in what is hopefully a long Dynamos career. They are the first team to play the 3v3 matches ever as this is a new format for this age. Steve reports that the children are enthusiastic and playing some great football.
