U12's Youth & U11's Colts make it 3 out of 3 in 2024 !

YOUTH FOOTBALL ROUND UP – January 27th/28th 2024

Finally we had some football back on at the club with a couple of our pitches deemed playable. It has been a frustrating couple of months, but we are hoping to get football back on at the club for most age groups moving forward.

The U18 Floodlit team secured a tight 3-2 win during the week against Dunstable Town. TJ scoring 2 goals (1 penalty) and Owen Magorokosho with the other. This leaves them in 4th position at the moment.
The U18 Dynamos team were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline, losing out to top of the table Haddenham. Kai Borrett and Dylan Eatwell with the goals.

The U17’s Youth lost out 2-0 away at Wendover Youth. There was an exciting match at Bedgrove Park as the U17’s Colts took on Flackwell Heath who were a couple of places above them in the table. Flackwell took an early lead, but the Colts then raced into a 4-1 lead with goals from Keane (2), Charlie and Alex looking like they had won the match. However Flackwell rallied well and snatched a 4-4 draw in the end. Very unlucky for the Colts.

The U16’s Colts were in action but lost out to a dcent Prestwood Colts team 6-0.

The U15’s Athletic continued their winning ways with an impressive 4-1 win against Histon in the League. Histon were top at the start of play but now AVDFC are top after this victory. The goals were spread around with the 4 goalscorers being Ben Kelloway, Callum Georgiou, Dylan Borrett and Emmanuel Omoniyi.
The U15’s Dynamos remain unbeaten in the league with a 4-0 win away at Wendover. Another decent performance saw goals from Josh Sapwell (2), Beau Kennedy and Kain Garrod. They remain top of the table.
Granners U15’s Youth were up against top of the table Maidenhead in the league at the weekend and came out on top in another impressive display. Matty, Freddie and Dexter getting the goals in a 3-1 win which puts them 2nd in the table with 5 games in hand on Maidenhead.
Finally for the age group, the U15’s Colts lost out in a very tight match, 4-3 to Burnham Juniors. Burnham are top and unbeaten, so a decent result for Colts who remain in 5th.

Martyn Jones U14’s Dynamos exited the B&B County Cup at the quarter finals stage with a 6-0 loss to Chalfont Saints. Still not a bad result as the opposition are currently 3rd in the top division. Unlucky lads.
The U14’s Colts were back to winning ways with a tight 3-2 win over Flackwell Heath. The match being 2-2 at half time with goals from Dinis De Sousa and Oliver Godfrey, leaving Oliver Long to score the winner in the second half.

It doesn’t happen very often, but 2 AVDFC teams faced each other in a league game on Sunday morning. Stef’s U13’s Youth defeating Graham’s U13’s Dynamos 3-1 in a tight match played in the right spirit. The Youth keeper was in outstanding form to assist them in the victory.
Chris Whetter’s U13’s Colts got a well deserved draw at Thame on Sunday. Going 2-0 down they fought back well to grab the draw.
The U13’s Girl Yellow team lost out to Olney Town 5-2 in their league match. Goals from Isabelle Gelly and Gabriella Cheung not enough to take any points this week.

The U12’s Youth kept their recent winning form going with a thumping 7-0 win over Penn & Tylers Green. With the score at 1-0 at half time, the second half performance was superb, even missing a penalty as well. They remain unbeaten in 2024.
A decent performance from the U12’s Colts was unfortunately not enough as they lost out 3-0 to a good Chinnor team.

The U11’s Dynamos were back to winning ways with a 2-0 win away at Gerrards Cross. Paul Knowler reports this was a hard working, battling performance to get the 3 points. Excellent result.
The U11’s Colts also made it 3 out 3 in 2024 with another superb performance, this time dispatching Hughenden Valley 5-1. Goals from Tommy (2), Luc, Cassius and Oliver securing the win.

The final results this week saw a mixed bag from the U9’s Dynamos. They won 1, drew 1 and lost 2 in their matches with Haddenham U10’s. They are learning the physical side of the game now as they are playing a year up.
Well done all.
