Youth Football Update – 18th September
Taking the headlines this week are the U15’s Athletic team who had an emphatic 5-0 win away to Saffron Walden in the EJA League Cup First Round.
2 Goals from Harry Walker, along with goals from Colby Brooks, Charlie Morris and James Byrom sealed the win.
U18’s Dynamos lost out 2-1 at Gerrards Cross, the goalscorer was Kyle Lawrence with his 5th of the season, set up by Akmel Diaby.
U17’s Dynamos were on the end of a thumping away at Wingate & Finchley in the cup, losing out 8-0 to a very decent team.
Piyush’s U17’s Youth team were unlucky in their match away at Thame Utd. A bad start saw them go 3-0 down, but goals from Domi, Harley and Rohan got them back into the match at 3-3, but a late goal saw Thame run out 4-3 winners.
New Manager, Russell Harrison’s U17’s Colts played their first game of the season and ran out 5-2 winners against Burnham Youth…great result.
Woody’s U16’s Dynamos EJA suffered a very rare defeat on Sunday. They lost 4-0 to Aveley Youth in the EJA League Cup.
Paul Robinson & Toby O’Callaghan’s U16’s girls were also in Cup action at the weekend. They drew 1-1 in the Berks & Bucks County Cup but unluckily went out 5-4 on penalties.
The U16’s Colts, under new Management with Richard Baber at the helm, drew 1-1 at home to Wendover Juniors.
Paul Driscoll’s U15’s Dynamos remain undefeated this season with another victory, this time despatching Penn & Tylers at their ground, 3-1. Beau Kennedy on the scoresheet again, with James Catten and Sam Dolan the other scorers. The opposition keeper was in great form, keeping the score respectful with a string of decent saves.
Granners’ U15’s Youth team have also started impressively with another win, this time thrashing Marlow Youth 10-1 in one-sided affair. Charlie scored a hat-trick and was well supported by Harry (2), Sonnie (2), Freddie, Yahya and Henry K all scoring for the Youth team.
New Manager, Russell Harrison, running the U15’s Colts had his first match of the season and romped home 5-2 against Burnham Juniors Whites. Well done Russell and team.
Both U14’s teams kept up their decent starts to the campaign. Martyn Jones Div 2 team won convincingly, 6-2, away at Cookham Dean Rebels to continue their decent start.
Nathan Poole’s U14’s Colts team also won a 10-goal thriller (7-3) against Ickenham Youth.
After Graham Goulding’s U13’s Dynamos drew 1-1 with Aylesbury Utd last week, they faced them again in the Dick Hopkins Cup this week…unfortunately losing out 2-1 but lots of positives to take from the match.
Stef’s U13’s Youth team were also in cup action and came out victorious on penalties against a decent Ickenham Youth team who play 2 divisions higher. Fantastic result and onto the next round.
The U13’s Colts, in their first ever competitive 11-a-side match, came out 9-4 winners against Tring Tornadoes. Great result for Chris Whetter and his team.
The U13’s Girls Yellow team came unstuck against a good Arlesey Town team, losing out 3-1 in the end.
However the U13’s Girls Blue team had their first match in the Oxford Girls League and were victorious with a 3-1 win. Goals from Gabriella, Jessica A and Neili securing all 3 points.
Richard Evans’ U12’s Dynamos started their campaign with a great 5-2 win away at Beaconsfield and the U12’s Colts, with Velid Svraka as Manager, had a close encounter with St Johns Colts, ending in a 1-1 draw. Arthur getting the only goal for the Colts team.
U11’s now go to 9-a-side matches, with referees, and Paul Knowlers Dynamos team had a fantastic 6-1 win against Wendover Juniors. Paul reports that the hard work they put in saw them with a deserved victory.
Peter Medlycott’s U11’s Colts showing some ruthless finishing as they despatched Pitstone with an impressive 5-0 win.
Toby’s U10’s came out on top in their encounter with Risborough Rangers. They won 3 of the 4 games, drawing the other 2-2.
The U9’s Dynamos, playing a year up, had another very impressive set of results. They also won 3 matches (2-0, 2-0, 3-1) and drew their final match 1-1. Jonny Burgess was full of praise for his team.
The U9’s Youth team, with Chris Milburn, had a mixed bag of results at the weekend. They won 2 and lost 2 in their games with Haddenham/Aylesbury Utd.
Finally our newest recruits, the U7’s with Mike Borrett and Melton Vaughan, had a decent 2nd ever match for the club. Winning 2 matches (3-0 & 7-1) and losing the other two matches against local rivals, Thame Utd.
