We are delighted to announce our new look First team management crew.
Since the departure of Scott Reynolds, we have been meeting with various managers and coaches to find the right fit for the club moving forward.
We met with some great people and really appreciate their time to come and chat to us. As the process evolved, we began to look at various applicants and found ourselves gravitating to the same few names.
We found that each had the same passion, philosophy and drive to improve the team. When the guys came together it felt like the perfect fit for the club.
We loved the non hierarchical structure of the group.
As a committee we operate much the same way. Everybody chips in to get the job done no matter how big or small. Titles are words on paper and equality is paramount, and the guys share the same values.
With the team, and continuing her great work, is Ellyse Armstrong, our physio/sports therapist. Ellyse has played a vital role in pre and post match treatment of players ensuring they are prepared for games and working with them on recovery.
We look forward to what this group will bring, and feel that we have a great team in place to take us to where we need to be.
Craig Wells – Manager
Craig comes with a wealth of footballing experience and is a fully qualified UEFA B Licensed Coach, but crucially to the club balances this experience alongside a clear roadmap of successes developing youth players at all age groups. Across the local senior footballing circuit Craig brings with him a great depth of knowledge and experience from his time in various footballing roles across a number of clubs and levels including the Manager role twice at Leighton Town. Aside to his senior football experience Craig has seen his work support senior youth players through their transition into open age football and their initial years at that level before progressing those players through to Step 3 and 4 standard clubs. As part of his footballing CV Craig also has a strong connection with Luton Town FC and its youth development programme where he spent a number of years as a senior coach within their structure for their older age playing squads.
Craig has impressed the club in a very short period of time supporting the transition from the decision made to change the clubs first team management group and has quickly gained the confidence of the first team squad and clubs committee by establishing some solid foundations to build a sustainable development model to improve the players as
individuals and as a squad collectively.
Building on a great win on Saturday against proven opposition Craig along with his team will now continue to work with the current squad and whilst focussing on their progress in the short term will also be prioritising where the squad needs to strengthen, improve and also have a greater depth ahead of the rest of the seasons challenges ahead.
Quote - ‘In the short time I have been involved with the first team squad, Bozz, his committee and everyone else at the club I have found it an incredibly welcoming place to enjoy your football. When Bozz asked me to create a management team to take the clubs ambitions for the first team forward it was something I wanted to do to play my part in to make sizeable progress in achieving that ambition. The hard work is inevitable and an entry level requirement, but I have the right guys now onboard to make that progress possible and we started to see some of the green shoots of early progress on Saturday in the win against Enfield which for the most was achieved through necessary prep, a decision on a
shape to best counter a very good and respected side in Enfield and a shed load of effort and application from the lads on the day who each to a man I thought were outstanding. The next steps is to make that a more consistent outcome and slowly but surely make ground on those currently above us and once that is in the bag start looking at what is feasible for the second half of the season in regards to targets once we have made that initial positive impact on the squad and its results.’
Management Team
George Quinn
I’m delighted to be joining the club and am really looking forward to getting started on this exciting new chapter following on from the result at the weekend.
I bring with me a wealth of coaching experience across both senior and youth football, having held a variety of roles throughout my coaching career.
My experience includes coaching and managing at Leighton Town across the U18s Development and First Team. I was also an academy coach at Peterborough United, gaining insight into the professional game and the expectations and demands to achieve this.
Away from the club environment, I’m also Head Coach and owner of Brazilian Soccer Schools and SOCATOTS, where player development is at the heart of everything we do.
I hold my UEFA B Licence and Full FA Youth Award, and I’m also a qualified Coach Mentor, reflecting my continued commitment to learning, developing and improving as a coach.
I’m excited to bring my knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for the game to the club. Above all, I’m looking forward to working with the players, helping them develop both individually and collectively, and playing my part in driving the club forward and achieving its ambitions.
Paul Bonham
I’m delighted to be joining Aylesbury Vale Dynamos . I hold a UEFA B Licence and have gained experience across both academy and senior football, having previously worked with Oxford United Academy, Aylesbury FC Under-18s and First Team, Risborough Rangers and Winslow United, before starting this season at Leighton Town.
Having previously been involved with Aylesbury FC, which later became part of the journey towards Aylesbury Vale Dynamos, it’s great to be returning and taking on this new challenge. I’m looking forward to working with the management team and players, and helping the club continue to progress and achieve its ambitions.
Jay Bamford
Having been at the club for 15 years coming through the youth system playing and then making the big decision to step into coaching and management over the last 5 years of those 15 I couldn’t be more pleased to continue my learning and coaching journey with my role in the first team management group. I have previously fulfilled a number of roles at
the senior end of the clubs footballing structure across both reserve and first team squads and now look forward to building on that to help to establish the essentials and right environments to take the club and its senior teams forward.
