In sweltering heat on Saturday afternoon a mixture of signed players, trialists, returning players and Under 18s gave the new management team food for thought before the new season kick off.

Six of the eight signed players all had a run out, only Aaron King and Nick Bennion were absent, as the teams played three thirty minute halves in blistering conditions. Also involved from last season's first team were Ty Deacon, Harry Scott and Craig Carby.

In the end the Reds ran out 7-2 winners with a hat trick from Ty Deacon, two from Djibrial Adamson and one each for Ryan Ware and Kyle Johnson with the solitary goal for the yellows being scored by Lewis Merridan.

The real games start on Tuesday night when FC entertain an Oxford United XI comprising their successful Scholars side & Under 23s. Kick off at Haywood Way is 7.45pm
