Bedgrove started using the facility at Haywood Way three years ago as they were struggling to find council pitches due to local government cutbacks and the loss of facilities locally.
2018 is Bedgrove's 50th year in existence having been formed by Alf Buckland, a resident of Finmere Crescent on Bedgrove in 1968. It was created to fill a void in activities for boys within the Bedgrove area on the south side and has now grown to a club that is the biggest in Aylesbury, running teams from Senior level down to under 6 age groups.
The partnership will see an increase in shared resource and facilities with both Dynamos Men’s and kids teams using Haywood Way more often. Aylesbury FC chairman Tony Masella commented ‘The club is committed to the community and for the good of football in the town, Bedgrove have the largest youth section in the town and its only right we support the growth of the club’. One part of the agreement is increased player walk outs from each of the youth teams, Bedgrove Chairman Mike Borrett commented ‘The youth teams have really enjoyed the player walk outs over previous years, having the chance to take penalties at halftime was also good fun. We have big plans for the adult teams and its really refreshing to see a club like FC continue to support local football’.
The club welcomes all Bedgrove players and parents. old and new, to the club and hope they enjoy using the facility.
