This weekend Aylesbury welcomes AFC Hayes to Haywood Way. Kick off is 3pm Saturday

After the defeat at home to leaders Kettering last weekend this Saturday brings a different challenge as we entertain bottom club AFC Hayes.

Last season The Brook finished in 18th place and after what appeared to be a promising pre season, have continued their poor run from the end of last season. AFC Hayes now sit in 22nd place with 11 points from their 17 games with their last win being back in October away at Aylesbury United. Despite this FC will need to watch TOBI AKINJIRIN who has still managed to notch 9 goals in the League.

Like ourselves AFC are a club with a relatively short history being formed as Brook House in 1974 as a pub team for the pub of the same name and first played in the Hayes and District Sunday League Division 7. In 1982, another local team, Grange FC, relocated to Brook House's recently acquired Park Farm ground and were reborn as the Brook House FC Saturday team, playing in the South West Middlesex League.

By 1984 the first team became founder members of the Middlesex County Football League where they remained until 1988, when they joined the London Spartan League, stepping up to its Premier Division the following year. In 1992 floodlights were erected at Park Farm for the first time and officially opened with a friendly against Chelsea, for whom former Brook House player Neil Shipperley scored a hat-trick in a 5–1 win. Shipperley's father Dave had also managed Brook during the 1990s.

In 2004 the club were promoted to the Isthmian League Division Two, where they achieved two third-place finishes before league restructuring saw them moved into the Southern League in 2006. In 2007 the club changed its name to A.F.C. Hayes, at the same time that another Hayes club was disbanded upon a merger with Yeading to create Hayes & Yeading United.

Last season FC went to Brook House on the first day of the season and came away with a 3-1 defeat with a consolation goal by Matty Hall AFC Hayes 3 FC 1 and in the reverse fixture could only manage a 1-1 draw at Haywood Way FC 1 AFC Hayes 1

On the playing front Aylesbury have an almost full strength side to choose from with Sam Bateman still sidelined and Ryan O'Toole unavailable. Ollie Hogg has joined Tring Athletic on dual registration.

Expected Matchday Squad Jamie Weatherill, Jeanmal Prosper, Danny Murphy, Ben Stevens, Connor Baker, Kyle Anthony, Sonny French, Davis Haule, Ben Bateman, Ricky Baker, Aston Goss, Brad Wadkins, Adam Logie, Gareth Price, Brian Haule, Lynton Goss,
