Aylesbury FC U18’s travel to face Leverstock Green U18 in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup on Thursday evening (7th September) with kick off at 7:30pm.

This will be the first competitive match of the season after a lengthy pre-season programme.

Looking ahead to Thursday’s game, U18 Manager Dan Turney commented “Everyone is buzzing and feeling confident heading into this game,” he added. “It will be a great occasion as always to play in the FA Cup, whether that be at Youth or Senior level, and most importantly it should be a good experience for the lads. We will keep playing the way we have been and we are all feeling ready for the game.

“We are full of confidence following a good win and overall performance last week, but there can be no complacency on our part. We know we have a job to do and it will be a tough one regardless of form.

“For us it is all about trying to further improve what we have been doing over the past few weeks, doing things even better then what we have been doing during pre-season.

“This fixture has been on our radar for a while now and everything that we’ve been doing in training and matches has been geared towards this game. Whatever is put in front of us on the night we are going to have to work hard to beat, whilst also being hard to beat ourselves.
“You can have the best preparation but it is all about how you perform on the night, especially in the FA Cup.”

Team News:
With only the suspended Cian Banert and injured Kieran Chance unavailable, Manager Dan Turney has the luxury of a large playing squad full of quality to choose from. Harry Scott looks likely to shake off the injury that he picked up on first team duty this past Saturday to play some part in this fixture.
